    25、 types ofsuspension:(1) lug;(2) hook or clevis;(3) trolley.(b) This Standard is applicable to hoists manufacturedafter the date on which this Standard is issued.     39、dle of the top hook on suspended hoists;2(b) center line of the suspension holes on lug sus-pended hoists;(c) bottom of the beam on trolley suspended hoists.hoist: a suspended machinery unit that is used forlifting or lowering a freely suspended (unguided) load.hoist speed: the rate of motion of the

    40、 load hook.holding brake: a friction brake for a hoist that isautomatically applied and prevents motion when theair supply is interrupted.hook-suspended: suspension of the hoist from a trolleyor rigid structure by means of a hook(s) at the top ofthe hoist.idler sprocket: a freely rotating device tha

    41、t changesthe direction of the load chain; this device is sometimescalled idler wheel, idler sheave, pocket wheel, or chainwheel (see Fig. 2).lift: the maximum vertical distance through which theload hook can travel, and is the total hook movementbetween its upper limit of travel and its position whe
