16、ith ASME Not for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-FOREWORDIn 1971, what is now the Committee on NuclearAir and Gas Treatment was organized as ANSI N45.8to develop standards for high reliability air cleaningequipment for nuclear facilities and corresponding t

17、eststo confirm performance of the equipment. Two stan-dards, N509 and N510, were published in 1975 and1976 and updated in 1980 and 1989.In 1976, under the accredited organization rules, theCommittee was reorganized as the ASME Committeeon Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment. The scope ofresponsibility was

18、 broadened to include the developmentof codes and standards for design, fabrication, inspec-tion, and testing of air cleaning and conditioning compo-nents and appurtenances, as well as air cleaning compo-nents used in engineering safety systems in nuclearfacilities. The current assignment is to prod

The user, however, is cautioned to carefullyvhi i l i 1$ #5 ddreview these Code requirements for applicability tospecific applications other than nuclear power and nu-clear fuel cycle facilities. The user of the Code will note that metric equivalentsof U.S. customary units appea

The values stated in U.S. customary unitsare to be regarded as the standard.Membership on the committee, subcommittees, andsubgroups includes nuclear steam supply system suppli-ers, operating owners, architect/engineers, members ofthe Nuclear Regulatory Commission

22、, various manufac-turers, and individuals with general interest. Only thoseindividuals with demonstrated abilities in the specificareas involved are solicited as members. The balanceof interest committee members is closely watched toensure that all interests are represented. The first Edition of this

23、 Code was approved by theAmerican National Standards Institute on April 30,1985, and issued on February 28, 1986. The secondEdition was approved by ANSI on March 18, 1988.This sixth Edition was approved by ANSI on April10, 2003.(03)Copyright ASME International Provided by IHS under license with ASME
