It also includes a reorganization of Section6.6, “Humid

    22、ifiers,” for clarity.Note: In this addendum, changes to the current standardare indicated in the text by underlining (for additions) andstrikethrough (for deletions) unless the instructions specifi-cally mention some other means of indicating the changes. 6.6 Humidifiers. When outdoor humidity and i

    23、nternal mois-ture sources are not sufficient to meet the requirements ofTable 7.1, humidification shall be provided by means of thehealth-care facility air-handling systems. Steam or adiabatichigh-pressure water atomizing humidifiers shall be used.6.6.1 General Requirementsa. Locate humidifiers with

    24、in air-handling units or ductworkto avoid moisture accumulation in downstream compo-nents, including filters and insulation.b. A humidity sensor shall be provided, located at a suitabledistance downstream from the steam injection source. c. Controls shall be provided to limit duct humidity to a max-

    25、imum value of 90% rh when the humidifier is operating.d. Duct takeoffs shall not be located within the humidifiersabsorption distance. e. Humidifier steam control valves shall be designed so thatthey remain off whenever the air-handling unit is not inoperation.6.6.2 Steam Humidifier Requirements. Ch

    26、emical addi-tives used in the steam systems that serve humidifiers forsteam humidifiers serving health care facilities shall complywith FDA requirements.16.6.3 Adiabatic Atomizing Humidifier Requirementsa. Humidifier water shall be treated with a reverse osmosisprocess, a UV-C sterilization light so

    27、urce, and a submi-cron filter.Informative Note: See ASTM D1193 Type III GradeB for further information.b. Treated humidifier water shall be continuously circulatedfrom the source to the humidifier valves. All valves, head-ers, and piping not part of the recirculation loop shalldrain completely when

    28、not in use.c. Ports suitable for testing water quality shall be provided inthe treated humidifier water piping system.d.     32、e systems and components in their responsibility while maximizing the beneficial effects these systems provide,consistent with accepted Standards and the practical state of the art.ASHRAEs short-range goal is to ensure that the systems and components within its scope do not impact theindoor and outd

    33、oor environment to a greater extent than specified by the Standards and Guidelines as established byitself and other responsible bodies.As an ongoing goal, ASHRAE will, through its Standards Committee and extensive Technical Committee structure,continue to generate up-to-date Standards and Guideline

    34、s where appropriate and adopt, recommend, and promotethose new and revised Standards developed by other responsible organizations.Through its Handbook, appropriate chapters will contain up-to-date Standards and design considerations as thematerial is systematically revised.ASHRAE will take the lead

    35、with respect to dissemination of environmental information of its primary interest andwill seek out and disseminate information from other responsible organizations that is pertinent, as guides to updatingStandards and Guidelines.The effects of the design and selection of equipment and systems will

    36、be considered within the scope of thesystems intended use and expected misuse. The disposal of hazardous materials, if any, will also be considered.ASHRAEs primary concern for environmental impact will be at the site where equipment within ASHRAEs scopeoperates. However, energy source selection and

    37、the possible environmental impact due to the energy source andenergy transportation will be considered where possible.
