Materials and characteristics 4General 4.1The moulded shapes shall be made from materials that ensure the finished product conform to the product standard. Material types 4.2See product standards. Finish 4.3The moulded sha

    18、1:2016 (E) 4 Dimensions 4.4As detailed in EN 4840-002. Temperature range 4.5See product standard. Shelf life 4.6The use by date shall be the guaranteed minimum storage time for which the moulded shape retains the “as supplied” internal diameter. Following unrestricted shrinkage in accordance with th

    19、e product standard, the moulded shape shall conform to the dimensions as specified in the EN 4840-002. In the event that the shelf life specimens fail the requirements of the product standard of any product still held by the manufacturer or distributors delivery shall be halted, until samples of eac

    20、h batch in storage has been tested to confirm that they satisfy the original recovery qualification requirements before release can be resumed. In the event of failure the Mandated Body is to be notified. NOTE The use by date is the shelf life when stored under the conditions recommended in Annex A.

    21、 Colours 4.7See product standards for available colours. The colours shall be a reasonable match to one of those specified in IEC 60304. Standard test specimens 4.8Moulded shape material specimens shall be prepared according to IEC 62329-2 Clause 4. Required properties 5The properties of the heatshr

    22、ink shapes, tested according to the methods described hereafter shall comply with the values given in the product standards. Test methods 6For each product standard, tests shall be as given in Table 1. Shelf life tests 6.1Sufficient quantities of moulded shapes used for qualification shall be retain

    23、ed to provide the test samples for the conducting of the shelf life test for 60 months. (Shorter if specified in the product standard). Tests shall be conducted at 12 monthly intervals The moulded shapes shall be stored at a temperature of (23 3) C and a relative humidity between 45 % and 75 %. Meas

    24、ure the as supplied internal diameters and then fully recover the moulded shapes in accordance with the product standard. Measure the recovered internal diameters, length and wall thicknesses .The measurements shall be made in accordance with IEC 62329-2 Clause 5. prEN 4840-001:2016 (E) 5 Table 1 Te

    33、urance 7Qualification 7.1General requirements 7.1.1See EN 9133. NOTE Sleeving technical specification says EN 9133. Qualification conditions 7.1.2The moulding material shall be submitted for qualification as test sheets in accordance with IEC 62329-2 Clause 4 or as moulded shapes to measure dimensio

    34、ns and mass and shall have a label containing information given in 8.1. prEN 4840-001:2016 (E) 7 Qualification tests 7.1.3See Table 1. Qualification tests shall be performed on sheets of material in accordance with IEC 62329-2 Clause 4 or moulded shapes as detailed in EN 4840-002. Select moulded sha

    35、pes for the shelf life test. Approval may be granted subject to the provisions of 4.6. Due to the duration of this test approval may be granted prior to completion, but will be subject to review on completion. Maintenance of qualification 7.2See Table 1. Tests shall be successfully carried out every

    36、 60 months for moulded shape material types in production or when production is restarted following a production stoppage greater than 36 months. The maintenance qualification tests shall be performed on specimens taken at random in accordance with EN 9133. Production routine tests 7.3Delivery condi

    37、tion 7.3.1See Table 1. The production routine tests shall be carried out on all material batches as shall consist of the tests listed in Table 1. Batch 7.3.2A batch of material shall consist of that quantity of moulding material, mixed, and/or homogeneously blended at any one time. For continuous pr

    38、ocessing a single mix shall be defined by the manufacturer or supplier to the satisfaction of the approving authority. A batch of moulded shapes is that quantity of the same material type, dimensions and colour produced from one moulding machine, at one time under the same conditions from the same b

    39、atch of moulding material. Random sampling tests: retest 7.3.3In the event of a failure of the material to conform to the requirements of a test, the batch shall be re-sampled and the test repeated using two further sets of test-pieces. Both sets shall conform to the appropriate test requirements, o

    40、therwise the material shall be deemed not to conform to this standard. Periodic tests 7.4They shall be carried out by sampling at least every five years, unless otherwise agreed with the approval authority. The “X” means applicable at the same condition specified for qualification. See Table 1. prEN

    41、 4840-001:2016 (E) 8 Labelling and packaging 8Labelling 8.1Each package of moulded shapes shall be labelled with the following information. manufacturers name and designation; product designation according to the EN product standard; batch number; date of manufacture (month, year); the use by date (

    42、 If shorter than 5 years); quantity. Packaging 8.2The products shall be supplied in a way which ensures adequate protection during transport, handling and storage. prEN 4840-001:2016 (E) 9 Annex A (Informative) Storage recommendations The following recommendations are intended to assist the preventi

    43、on of product dimensional change caused by conditions existing in the storage area. a) Product should be normally stored between 18 C and 26 C with short excursions to 35 C; b) Product should be stored under dry conditions; c) No product should be stored in direct sunlight; d) Product should not be

    44、stored within 2 m of a direct ultraviolet (e.g. fluorescent) light source; e) Product delivered in packages should remain packaged until required; f) Material used in packaging should preferable be of an opaque material; g) Packages which are opened for removal of part of their contents should be adequately resealed.
