    6、ction with specific procurement functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the con- tracting officer.) 3 REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Fabrication.- The telescope shall be manufactured in accordance with Drawing F8587340 and drawings pertaining thereto. 3.2 adherence to, and compl

    7、iance with the following requirements of MIL-0-13830 and MIL-F-13926. General specifications.- The contractor shall be responsible for 3.2.1 MIL-0-13830. Illuminated reticle 3.2.2 MIL-F-13926. (a) Order of precedence L (b) Dimensions and tolerances (c) Inorganic protective surface finishes (d) Elect

    8、rical and electronic assemblies (e) Part identification and marking (f) Workmanship 3.3 Environmental. 3.3.1 Storage temperature.- The telescope shall show no evidence of physical failure and shall meet all requirements of this specification at standard ambient temperature (plus 60 degrees to 90 deg

    9、rees Fahrenheit) after having been exposed and thermally stabilized at ambient temperatures of plus 160 degrees and minus 80 degrees Fahrenheit. 3.3.2 Operating temperature.- The telescope shall meet the applicable requirements of 3.9 to 3.9.2.2 inclusive while exposed and thermally stabilized at am

    10、bient temperatures of plus 159 degrees and minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Upon return to standard ambient temperature, the telescope shall meet the requirements of 3.3.3. 3.3.3 Vibration.- The telescope shall be vibrated in a vertical plane at a constant frequency of thirty cycles per second with an a

    11、mplitude of 1/16 inch (1/8 inch total excursion) for a period of five minutes plus or minus fifteen seconds.     13、hours minimulx without loss of pressure in excess of 0.2 psi. 9 3.4.2 Counterbox area.- The counterbox area of the telescope shall be capable of sustaining an internal pressure of 2.0 k .2 psi for a period of 2 hours minimum withut loss of pressure in excess of 0.2 psi. 3.4.3 Purging.- The optical a

    14、ssembly portion of the telescope shall . be purged with dry nitrogen supplied at a pressure of 5 f 1/4 psi until the dew point of the emergent gas is no higher than -25F. apertures shall be quickly and positively closed to minimize intermingling of external atmosphere upon disconnection of purging e

    15、quipment. Purging 3.5 Cleanliness. 3.5.1 Dirt.- Inspection for dirt and foreign particles (classed as dirt) shall be made from the eye end only. appearing on the reticle shall be a reticle line width. of dirt particles appearing within a central field of view of 50 mils diameter shall be three (3).

    16、outside this field of view shall be three (3). The minimum angular separation between dirt particles shall be 15 mils. reticle line width shall be ignored regardless of distribution.     17、ller than 1/4 3.5.2 Other defects,- There shall be no evidence of moisture, grease, fingerprints, condensates, fractures, and adhesive separations when viewing through the objective and eye end of the instrument. 3.6 Orientation.- The requirements of 3.7 to 3.8.3.3.2, inclusive, . shall be met with

    18、the flat mounting surface of the telescope horizontal, _* s. the elbow assembly within 2 of the center of the swing stops, the head elevation indices indicating zero, the azimuth and reset counters indicating 3200 mils, the gunners aid counters set at zero, and the five mil click lead knob set for “

    19、Indirect“ fire (out of detent). 3.7 Accuracy. 3.7.1 Collimation. 3.7.1.1 Fre-vibration setting.- Prior to meeting the requirements of 3.3.3, the line of sight shall be adjusted horizontal and perpendicular to the locating keyways within 0.25 mil. 3.7.1.2 Post-vibrction.- Subsequent to neeting the re

    20、quirements of 3.3.3, the line of sight shall be within 0.25 mil of the position established in 3.7.1.1 excluding backlash. 3 I, . .I .     21、?en sight.- With the telescope posiztoned as in 3.6, the line of sight of the open sight shall be parailel in azimuth and elevation to the line of sight through the telescope optics within 10 mils. 3.7.2 Image tilt.- The image of a vertical target line shall be . vertical within one degree of arc th

    22、roughout two (2) revolutions of the head. . 3.7.3 Image wander.- The wander of the reticle image measured at the eyepiece shall not exceed two degrees in diameter for two (2) complete revolutions of the head assembly. In addition, all reticle graduations shall be visible throughout the revolutions o

    23、f the head. shall also be met with the elbow assembly positioned against each of the swing stops. This requirement 3.7.4 Parallelism of reticle and image,- The vertical reticle line shall be parallel to the image of a vertical target line within 30 minut.es of arc at the position established in para

    24、graph 3.7.1.1. 3.7.5 Eyepiece focus.- The best eyepiece focus of the reticle image shall be fixed between the limits of -0.75 and -1.00 diopters. The variation in eyepiece focus between the horizontal and vertical reticle line at the center of the reticle image shall not exceed 1/4 diopter. 3.7.6 Pa

    25、rallax.- Parallax at the center of the field shall not exceed 0.15 mil when viewing a target at 130 meters rC 10 meters. 3.7.7 Resolution.- Resolution on the optical axis shall be 15 seconds of arc or less when using an observation telescope of at least 3 power and at least 0.4 inch entrance pupil,

    26、Resolution consists of detectable line structure and proper line count in all four meridians. Total spread in focus shift between meridians shall not exceed 1/4 diopter measured at the instrument eyepiece. 3.7.8 Reticle.- The angular separation between the two 40 mil gradua- tions on the horizontal

    27、axis shall be 80 mils plusor minus 0.5 mil. 3.8 Performance. r 3.8.1 Elevation mechanism. 3.5.1.1 Excursion range.- Rotation of the elevation knob shal cause the line of sight to elevate and depress a mnimum of 300 mils from the position specified in 3.7.1.1. 3.8.1.2 Plumb travel.- Starting with the

    28、 line of sight in coincidence with a vertical target line at zero elevation,the line of sight shall track the target line within 0.5 mil (total spread of 1.0 mil) when elevated 300 mils, depressed to 300 mils depression, then ecvated to zero elevation.     30、two full revolution of the head in one direction shall not-exceed 1.0 mil including backlash. greatest positive error and the greatest negative error shall not exceed I_i azimuth counter reading and the reset counter for any one number shall not exceed 0.25 mil. The total spread between the . 1.0 mi

The total error, excluding backlash, between the 6400 mil 3.8.2.2 15 Mil steps.- Rotating the gunners aid knob to indicate 15 mils, followed by rotation of the azimuth knob in the opposite direction, with backlash removed, to deflect the line of sight 15 mils, shall cause . the reset counter to r

    32、eturn to within 0.25 mil of the original setting. . This requirement shall be met with the 15 mil value set into each gunners aid counter at azimuth positions 3200, 4800, zero, and 1600 mils as read on the azimuth counter. 3.8.2.3 Backlash.- Backlash in the azimuth mechanism shall not exceed 0.5 mil

    33、 when read on the azimuth counter, or 0.75 mil when read on the reset counter. . 3.8.2.4 Level travel.- Starting with the line of sight in coincidence with a horizontal target, the line of sight shall track the target within 1.0 mil (total spread of 2 mils) when the head is rotated through two full-

    34、 . revolutions in azimuth. 3.8.2.5 Lift.- Vertical displacement of the line of sight due to reversing rotation by means of the azimuth knob shall not exceed 0.5 mil. . *. 3.8.2.6 Five mil click lead mechanism.- With the lead knob set for ., . “Di,rect“ fire, a detent action shall be felt and heard w

    35、hen the azimuth . . knob is rotated to introduce increments of 5.0 mils then re-adjust the barrel to bring the telescope reticle into focus at the sharpest point. Read the error on the scale on the barrel of the dioptometer. Several repeat readings in both directions should be made to determine conf

    36、ormance to requirements. Observe the reticle 4.6.11 Parallax.- Parallax shall be determined by viewing a target at the distance specified in 3.7.6. Parallax can be distinguished by adjusting the vertical and horizontal lines of the telescope reticle parallel to the image of the target lines without

    37、touching, leaving a minimum of space or light between the lines. The observer shall move his head from side to side or up and down. Any movement of the target in either direction (the space getting wider or narrower) is considered parallax. The amount of parallax observed shall not exceed the tolera

    38、nce requirements of 3.7.6. 4.6.12 Resolution.- This test shall be performed in accordance with the resolution test specified in MIL-0-13830. The telescope shall permit resolution of a target within the limit specified in 3.7.7. k.6.13 Reticle.- The test for reticle graduation accuracy shall be condu

    40、e line of Sicht established in accordance with 37.1.1, elevation and depression of the prism in the rotating head by means of the elevaton knob shall cause the line of sight to displace the amount specifted in 3.8.1.1 for elevation and depression. This test can be accomplished by using a target coll

    41、imator (or a wall target) that has an established level line of sight and the excursion limits required. 4.6.15 Plumb travel.- This test can be performed concurrently with 4.6.14. reticle line brought into coincidence with the vertical target line by rotating the azimuth knob, The horizontal reticle

    42、 line of the telescope shall be in coincidence with the horizontal target line by rotating the elevation knob. Rotate the elevation knob to elevate the line of sight of the telescope 300 mils. Reverse the rotation of the knob to depress the line of sight to 300 mils depression. Reverse the rotation

    43、again, returning the line of sight to zero elevation. The vertical reticle line of the telescope must track the target line within the tolerance specified in 3.8.1.2. The telescope shall be in a level position with the vertical 4.6.16 Backlash (elevation).- The test for backlash in the elevation mec

    44、hanism shall be accomplished concurrently with the tests indicated in 4.6.14 and 4.6.15. brought into coincidence with the horizontal target line, at zero elevation without overtravel, when the elevation knob is rotated in a clockwise direction. The zero line on the knob and the index line on the ro

    45、tating head shall be set in alignment with each other. Rotate the elevation knob clockwise to 300 mils, then reverse direction of the knob and align the zero line on the knob with the index line on the head without overtravel. Observe, through the telescope, the position of the telescope reticle on

    46、the target. The telescope reticle shall be within the tolerance specified in 3.8.1.3 of the zero level line on the target. This test shall also be conducted in the counterclockwise direction. The horizontal reticle line of the telescope shall be 4.6.17 800 Mils steps.- Position the test equipment to

    47、 zero azimuth. Set the telescope azimuth and reset counters to 3200 (zero) and the gunners aid counters to zero. The vertical line on the reticle of the telescope shall be coincident with the vertical line on the target, and the horizontal line of the reticle shall be coincident with the zero elevat

    48、ion line. Azimuth readings shall be made at 800 mil increments through two full revolutions in each direction. exceed the tolerance Specified in 3.8.2.1 including backlash.     49、.6.17, the position of the horizontal reticle line of the telescope shall be observed with respect to the zero elevation line on the target. The telescope reticle shall track the zero elevation line on the target within the tolerance specified in 3.8.2.4 for at leasc one full revolution in az iinu th.
