5、ribed in the First Article 4.4.4 and Quality Conformance Inspection Tables. Inspection Equipment.-The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tests specified, herein is described in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method“ column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1
6、. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See MIL-A-48078. 4.5 Test Methods and Procedures.- 4.5.1 Durometer Hardness of Rubber Parts.-The parts to be subjected to this test shall be tested as specified in Method 3021 of Fed
7、eral Test Method Standard No. 601. Five (-5)- readings shall be taken on each part using the hardness scale specified in MIL-STD-417. The median value of the five readings shall be obtained by arranging the value of the readings from lowest to highest. The median reading will be the third (center) v
8、alue in the numerically arranged readings. If the median hardness of any part fails to comply with the applicable hardness requirement (See MIL-STD-417) for the grade number the lot represented by the sample parts shall be rejected. (:Non-destructive test). 4.5.2 Dimensional control of stamped parts
9、.-In place of the normal sampling associated with the Classification of Defects, and with the approval of the Contracting Officer, a sample of at least ten (10) parts shall be dimensionally in- spected to qualify the tool used in the stamping process for use in production. In addition, a random samp
10、le of five (5) parts shall be selected from the last portion of each hours production for dimensional inspection as a control of the tool during production. If any defective parts are found during qualification of the tool, the tool producing the defective part shall not be used in production. If an
11、y defective parts are found when inspection is per- formed for control of the tool, the tool producing the defective part shall be removed from production. Further, that portion of production since the last tool control check shall be returned to the contractor for corrective action. 11 Provided by

13、ractor may request a change of inspection frequency providing he presents objective evidence to the Contracting Officer to substantiate the request. Material Certification.-The contractor shall provide certification that each lot of material used to produce each part number complies with all materia
14、l requirement s. The cert i- fication for rubber shall include test results or statements which provide specific reference to each applicable requirement of MIL-STD-417 and assurance of compliance with each requirement, 4.5.3 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Preservation and packaging.- 5.1.1 Level C
15、.-The hardware shall be preserved and packaged Each package shall contain only in accordance with MIL-STD-1169. one part number. Bulk packaging may be used. Pad, dividers, etc. shall be used to avoid damage to parts. 5.2 Packing 5.2.1 Level C.-The hardware, preserved and packaged as specified in 5.1
16、.1 shall be packed for shipment in accordance with MIL-STD-1169. Each pack shall contain only one part number. i 5.3 Marking.-Marking of the carton shall comply with MIL-STD-1169. 5.4 Shipping.-When hardware from more than one lot is shipped at one time, each lot shall be kept separate and the divis
17、ion between lots clearly indicated to prevent mixing of the lots in transit. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended Use.-The components covered by this specification are intended for use in the M692 and 14731 Projectiles. 6.2 Ordering Data.-See MIL-A-48078, 6-3 Submission of Designs for Approval.-See MIL-A-48078.
