Approximately 5g of the test fabric shall be transferred to a 600 mL beaker to which 400 mL of distilleci water dias ken added. This mixture shall be boiled and the liqaid decanted. The addition of water, boiling and decanti
11、ng shall be repeated until the liq-iid is clear. The spscimen shall be removed fron the beaker and allowed to air dry. Tk specinen shall then rn tested with iodine .(apsroximately N/lo) to assure that all starcn has been removed. Tne washing procedure shall D= repeated as often as necessary until a
12、negative test for starch is obtained on tnr cloth. .- 4.17.2 Extraction With dimethylformanide. The specimen shall be transferred to a 250 mL beaker and tne beaker and contents placed in an ov8i rnaintained at 100 to 105OC for one now. Tne beaker and contents shall be cooled in a desiccator and weig
13、iie. deigiied. The difference oetween these weights represents tne weight of the desiz2d sanple. 600 mL beaker to whicn 150 mL dimetnylformamide has been added. This bsaksr and contents snall DI placed in a steam bath and - neated for 15 ininutes. The liquid shall be decanted. The , addition of dime
14、thylformamide 8 neatinj and decanting shall De repeated 5 times. The contents of the oeaker shall be washed iJi th distilled water until the odor from the dimethylf ormamide iiai been removad. The sample shall then be transferred to a tared 251) mL beaker. The Makar and coiltents shall he placed in
