2、ion (CID), for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE This CID covers the requirements for a light towing hook for use when towing vehicles weighing f-om 7.26 to 13.62 metric tonnes. The towing hook, herein referred to as “hook“, interfaces with a towing lug which is attached to the vehicle to be towed. 2.
3、SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Materials. Hooks shall be wrought alloy steel in accordance with Unified Numbering System (UNS) G41450, H41400, H41420, or H86500. The use of recovered materials made in compliance with regulatory requirements is acceptable providing that all requirements of this CID are
4、met (see 5.5). 2.1.1 Hardness. Hook hardness shall be HRC 28-35. 2.2 Design and construction. Hooks shall be designed and constructed in accordance with figure 1 or suitable interchangeable towing hook. 2.3 Finish treatment. Finish treatment shall conform to chemical agent resistant coating paint sy
5、stem for steel exterior surfaces in accordance with Army drawing 12369003. Color of paint final top coat shall be green 3 83. Identification and marking shall be permanent and legible and as a minimum shall include the part identification number (PIN) A52509-1, the manufacturers CAGE
9、code (or equivalent identification), the manufacturers part number, a steel heat code, and a foundry trademark. 3. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 3.1 Remonsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests). 3.2 Contractor certificatio
10、n. The contractor shall certifi and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this CID and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality assurance practices. Items with known defects sh
11、all not be submitted for Government acceptance. The Government reserves the right to require poof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 4. PRESERVATION, PACKAGING, PACKING, LABELING, AND MARKING. Unless o
12、therwise specified in the contract or order (see 5.2), preseivation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking for the desired level shall be in accordance with ASTM D395 1. 5. NOTES.
