    14、the note, update the Unicode Standard version from 4.0 to 4.1. Page 2, Clause 3 Normative references Update the reference to the Unicode Bidirectional Algorithm and the Unicode Normalization Forms as follows: Unicode Standard Annex, UAX#9, The Unicode Bidi-rectional Algorithm, Version 4.1.0, 2005-03

    15、-30. Unicode Standard Annex, UAX#15, Unicode Nor-malization Forms, Version 4.1.0, 2005-03-30. Page 2, Clause 4 Terms and definitions Insert the following before the current 4.1 and up-date all following term numbers and cross refer-ences accordingly. 4.1 Base character A graphic character that does

    16、not graphically com-bine with preceding characters. NOTE Most graphic characters are base characters. This sense of graphic combination does not preclude the presen-tation of base characters from adopting different contextual forms or from participating in ligatures. Page 3, Clause 4 Terms and defin

    17、itions Replace the definition of Composite sequence (now 4.15) with the following: A sequence of graphic characters consisting of a non-combining character followed by one or more combining characters, ZERO WIDTH JOINER, or ZERO WIDTH NON-JOINER (see also 4.13). Insert the following text after the d

    18、efinition of Fixed collection and update all following term numbers accordingly. 4.21 Format character A character whose primary function is to affect the layout or processing of characters around it. It gen-erally does not have a visible representation of its own. In the definition of Graphic chara

    19、cter (formerly 4.20, now 4.22), insert “or a format character” after “con-trol function”. Page 14, Clause 19 Characters in bidirectional context Add Mirrored before Characters in clause title and replace the text of the clause with the following: A class of characters has special significance in the

    20、 context of bidirectional text. The interpretation and rendering of any of these characters depend on the state related to the symmetric swapping characters (see clause F.2.2) and on the direction of the char-acter being rendered that are in effect at the point in the CC-data-element where the coded

    21、 representa-tion of the character appears. The list of these char-acters is provided in Annex E. NOTE That list also represents all characters which have the Bidi Mirrored property in the Unicode Standard Version 4.1. For example, if the character ACTIVATE SYMMETRIC SWAPPING occurs and if the direct

    22、ion of the character is from right to left, the character shall be interpreted as if the term LEFT or RIGHT in its name had been replaced by the term RIGHT or LEFT, respectively. This character mirroring is not limited to paired char-acters and shall be applied to all characters belong-ing to that c

    23、lass.     26、.4 Variation selectors Replace the paragraph after the first note with the following text: Variation selectors following other base characters and any non-base characters have no effect on the selection of the graphic symbol for that character. Insert a new paragraph after the paragraph starting wit

    27、h “No sequences using character”: All the allowed sequences using variation selectors are defined in this clause; all other such sequences are undefined. Furthermore, no sequences contain-ing variation selectors and a mix of combining char-acters or composite characters will be defined. Page 17, Sub

    31、ormation establishes the charac-ter identity for CJK Ideographs. A source reference is es-tablished by associating a CJK Ideograph code position with one or several values in the source standards listed in clause 27.1 and 27.3. Such a source standard origi-nates from the following categories: Hanzi

    32、G sources, Hanzi H sources, Hanzi T sources, Kanji J sources, Hanja K sources, Hanja KP sources, ChuNom V sources, and Unicode U sources. For a given code position, only one source reference can be created for each of the source standard category (G, H, T, J, K, KP, V, and U). In order to provide a

    33、compre-hensive coverage for a source standard category, when a source standard is referenced, all its unique associations with existing CJK Ideographs are documented.
