    3、specification prescribes the requirements for the classification of over 30 titanium and titanium-alloy welding elec-trodes and rods. Classification is based upon the chemical composition of the electrode. Major topics include generalrequirements, testing, packaging, and application guidelines.This

    4、specification makes use of both U.S. Customary Units and the International System of Units (SI). Since these are notequivalent, each must be used independently of the other.This specification adopts the requirements of ISO 24034 and incorporates the provisions of earlier versions ofA5.16/A5.16M, all

    8、:2010 MOD)iiStatement on the Use of American Welding Society StandardsAll standards (codes, specifications, recommended practices, methods, classifications, and guides) of the AmericanWelding Society (AWS) are voluntary consensus standards that have been developed in accordance with the rules of the

    9、American National Standards Institute (ANSI). When AWS American National Standards are either incorporated in, ormade part of, documents that are included in federal or state laws and regulations, or the regulations of other governmen-tal bodies, their provisions carry the full legal authority of th

    10、e statute. In such cases, any changes in those AWS standardsmust be approved by the governmental body having statutory jurisdiction before they can become a part of those laws andregulations. In all cases, these standards carry the full legal authority of the contract or other document that invokes

    11、theAWS standards. Where this contractual relationship exists, changes in or deviations from requirements of an AWS stan-dard must be by agreement between the contracting parties.AWS American National Standards are developed through a consensus standards development process that bringstogether volunt

    12、eers representing varied viewpoints and interests to achieve consensus. While AWS administers theprocess and establishes rules to promote fairness in the development of consensus, it does not independently test, evalu-ate, or verify the accuracy of any information or the soundness of any judgments c
