Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 absolute contaminant removal ratingthe smallestsize of contaminant as defined in ARP 901 that the filter willretain with 100 % efficiency by weight.3.1.2 bubble poi

    9、ntthe pressure differential across a sub-merged filter element required to produce a visible and steadystream of air bubbles. Correlation between bubble point andcontaminant removal capability provides an economical meansto test for contaminant removal capability on a productionbasis. The bubble poi

    10、nt indicates the maximum pore size of thefilter media under static conditions.3.1.3 bubble-tightno visible leakage over a 3-min periodusing either water submersion or the application of bubble fluidfor detection.3.1.4 clean filter element pressure dropthe pressure dropacross the filter element when

    11、it is new or uncontaminated.3.1.5 cleanable filter elementa filter element that, afterbeing contaminated to its dirt-holding capacity (contaminatedfilter element pressure drop), can be restored by cleaning tooperational condition and with a pressure drop not exceedingthe required clean filter elemen

    12、t pressure drop.3.1.6 contaminant removal ratingthis is a measure of thesize of contaminants that the filter can remove from the flowstream.3.1.7 contaminated filter element pressure drop the pres-sure drop across the filter element when it is contaminated tothe point where cleaning or replacement i

    20、cross the filter element that theelement must withstand without collapse, damage, or impair-ment of performance capabilities.3.1.15 filter element contaminant-holding capacityalsocommonly termed “dirt capacity.” The amount of acontaminant, expressed in weight, that the element can holdwhen its resis

    21、tance to flow causes a pressure drop equal to thecontaminated filter element pressure drop.3.1.16 filter element pressure dropthe pressure dropacross the filter element.3.1.17 filter housing pressure dropthe pressure drop ac-counted for by the filter housing.3.1.18 filter pressure dropthe pressure d

    22、rop across theentire filter (element and housing) at any given flow rate of theservice fluid (air or nitrogen).3.1.19 flow capacitythe maximum flow rate that the filteris required to pass.3.1.20 hydrostatic shell test pressurethe hydrostatic testpressure that the filter is required to withstand with

    23、out damage.The filter must be capable of meeting all performance require-ments after the shell test pressure has been removed.3.1.21 media migrationany material released into the flowstream by the filter media and its materials of construction.This term refers to the tendency of the filter media or

    24、“built-in”contamination, such as, welding scale, metal particles, orair-borne dust combined with the media during itsmanufacture, to leave the filter and shed or migrate into theflow stream.3.1.22 nominal contaminant removal ratingthe smallestsize of contaminant as defined in ARP 901 that the filter

    25、 willretain with 98 % efficiency by weight.3.1.23 operating pressurethe pressure within the filterduring service.3.1.24 pressure ratingsthe pressure rating of the filtershall be defined in the documents listed in Table 1. Thepressure rating for a filter is the maximum allowable working(service) pres

Classification4.1 Filters shall be of the following types, compositions,styles, pressure ratings, sizes, end connections, and contami-nation removal ratings, as specified in Section 5.4.1.1 Filter Element Type:4.1.1.1 Type 1Disposable.4.1.1.2 Type 2Cleanable.4.1.2 Filter Elemen

    28、sure ratingsselected from those listed in Table 1 and specified in Section 5.The pressure rating selected shall be the same for both the filterinlet and outlet.4.3 SizeFilter sizes shall be14 NPS (13.5 mm),12 NPS(21.3 mm),34 NPS (26.9 mm), 1 NPS (33.7 mm), 114 NPS(42.4 mm), 112 NPS (48.3 mm), and 2

    29、NPS (60.3 mm) or asspecified in Section 5 (see Table 2).4.4 End Connections Filters shall have inlet and outletend connections selected from those listed in Table 1 andspecified in Section 5. Inlet and outlet connections shall beidentical.4.5 Contamination Removal Ratings Filters shall havecontamina

Filter Design and Construction6.1 Filters shall incorporate the design features specified in6.1.1-6.1.6.6.1.1 Materials of ConstructionMaterials shall be 300series corrosion-resistant steel (SS304, 304L, 316, or 316L),

    38、 orother materials selected to provide compatibility with the linemedium, weldability, and corrosion resistance without requir-ing painting, coating, or plating. The filter body and the filterbowl shall be weld repairable. Materials for contacting partsshall be selected to minimize electrolytic corr

    39、osion and galling.6.1.2 Design Construction Requirements :6.1.2.1 General ConstructionThe filter shall have a boltedflanged body and filter bowl to expedite removal of the filterelement for cleaning or replacement.6.1.2.2 Collapse StrengthThe filter element shall be ca-pable of withstanding a differ

    40、ential pressure equal to themaximum inlet pressure rating without structural degradation.6.1.2.3 Automatic Bypass When specified (see 5.1.4), thefilter assembly shall incorporate an automatic bypass feature tobypass system fluid automatically around the filter element inthe event of excessive flow r

    41、estriction through the filterelement. The automatic bypass shall be set in accordance withTable 3 and shall have a capacity equal to or greater than thatof a clean filter assembly.6.1.2.4 Filter Element Installation Positive means shallprevent any play or looseness of the filter element in servicean

    42、d prevent cocking or misalignment during installation.6.1.2.5 Filter Element Flow Direction The filter elementflow direction shall be from the outside to the inside surface ofthe element.6.1.2.6 Cleanability Cleanable filter elements shall becleanable and reusable by means of scrubbing and washing t

    43、heoutside surface with detergent and tap water and blowingthrough with compressed air not exceeding 30-psig (207-kPagage pressure). Once cleaned, the element shall be capable ofmeeting the requirements for a new element. Cleanable filterelements shall not be adversely affected by immersion in watera

    44、nd shall be capable of meeting the above criteria for not lessthan five cleaning and reuse cycles.6.1.2.7 Differential Pressure Indicator When specified(see 5.1.5), the filter body shall incorporate a nonelectrical,“pop up” differential pressure indicator which senses thepressure drop across the ele

    45、ment and actuates in accordancewith Table 3. Once actuated, a red indicator button shall remainup until manually reset.6.1.2.8 O-Ring Locations O-rings in face-seal applica-tions shall have the grooves located in the lower members tosimplify assembly.6.1.2.9 Pressure EnvelopeThe hydrostatic shell te

    46、st pres-sures shall be 1.5 times the filter rated pressure at 100F(38C).6.1.2.10 Connections The inlet and outlet end connectionsof the filter shall be as specified in Table 1. Any exposedthreads shall be protected by plastic caps for shipping.6.1.2.11 Port ConfigurationThe filter body shall havein-

    47、line inlet and outlet end connections for installation into thepiping system.6.1.2.12 Pressure Lines All pressure lines in the filtershall be internally ported.6.1.2.13 Accessibility The filter shall be fully and easilyaccessible for cleaning or repair without removal of the filterbody from the line
