PURPOSE1.1 This standard provides test methods and calculationprocedures for establishing the efficiencies of space-con-ditioning/water-heating appliances having refrigerant-to-water

SCOPEThis standard covers electric, air-to-air, space-condi-tioning appliances that include a refrigerant-to-water desu-perheater and have

DEFINITIONSactive system: a combined appliance that uses a pump tocirculate potable water, either at a varying or a fixed rate,between the desuperheater and the water heater.appliance: often used in this standard as a one-wordsubstitute for combi

    27、ned appliance, which is defined bined appliance: an assembly consisting of a heatpump or air conditioner, a desuperheater, a water heater,and, if required, a potable water pump; the assemblyprovides space conditioning and domestic hot bined performance factorcooling season (CPFcs ):the seasonal coef

    28、ficient of performance of the combinedappliance when used to meet both the space-cooling anddomestic water-heating loads that occur during the space-cooling season. The quantity is bined performance factorheating season (CPFhs ):the seasonal coefficient of performance of the combinedappliance when u

    29、sed to meet both the space-heating anddomestic water-heating loads that occur during the space-heating season. The quantity is bined performance factorwater-heating-only season(CPFws ): the seasonal coefficient of performance of thecombined appliance when used to meet the domestic water-heating load

    30、 that occurs during the water-heating-only season(i.e., days during the year when no space conditioning isprovided). For combined appliances having a desuperheater,all water heating during this season is performed by the waterheater resistive element(s). The quantity is bined space-cooling and water

    31、-heating (COOL the refrigerant-side additions and modifications thatare needed to couple the components are completed when thesystem is installed in the field. For active and passive systemswith field-installed desuperheaters, the water piping thatconnects the desuperheater and the water heater may

    32、becompleted either at the factory or when the system is installedin the field.heating seasonal performance factor (HSPF): for thespace-heating season, the ratio of the total space heatingdelivered to the total electrical energy input if the combinedappliance operated exclusively in a space-heating-o

    33、nly(HEAT) mode. The quantity is expressed in units of Btu/W h.insert system: a combined appliance where refrigeranttubing is inserted directly into the water heater, usuallythrough one of the ports on the water heater; the insertedtubing is the desuperheater.ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 137-2013 (RA 2017) 3

    34、manufacturer: the supplier who provides the rating of thecombined appliance.passive system: a combined appliance that does not use awater pump but relies on thermosiphon flow through thedesuperheater and water heater; generally the desuperheater ismounted on the side of the water heater or at an ele

    35、vation lowerthan the water heater.piping: when used alone, refers strictly to water piping.seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER): for the coolingseason, the ratio of the total heat removed from the condi-tioned space to the total electrical energy input if the combinedappliance operated exclusivel

    36、y in a space-cooling-only(COOL) mode. The quantity is expressed in units of Btu/Wh.simulated-use test: a laboratory test where water draws areimposed on the water heater while the combined applianceprovides space conditioning and desuperheater water heatingover specified periods. The test is used to

    37、 determine a repre-sentative inlet water temperature to the desuperheater for useduring tests of the water-heating mode and a laboratory basisfor the water heating contributed by the desuperheater versusthe water heater resistive elements.space-cooling-only (COOL) mode: an operating mode thatoccurs

    38、during space cooling when either the desuperheaterwater pump has automatically cycled off or the rate of heattransfer to the domestic water has become negligible. Withrespect to seasonal performance calculations, this modeoccurs when the water-heating load is satisfied but a space-cooling load remai

    39、ns. space-heating-only (HEAT) mode: an operating mode thatoccurs during space heating when either the desuperheaterwater pump has automatically cycled off or the rate of heattransfer to the domestic water has become negligible.     42、heater: an electric water heater meeting thespecifications given in Section 8.2.3; a standard water heatershall be used when a water heater is neither supplied norprescribed by the manufacturer. standard water pump: a water pump meeting the specifica-tions given in Section 8.2.4; a standard water pu

    43、mp shall beused when testing active systems where a water pump isneither supplied nor prescribed by the manufacturer.test condition tolerance: the maximum permissible vari-ation between the average of a measured quantity and thedesired test condition specified in the standard.test operating toleranc

    44、e: the maximum amount that adesignated measured quantity shall vary (i.e, maximumminimum) during the entire or a specified interval of a test.test rooms: the two environmental chambers where allcomponents of the combined appliance are installed andtested; one chamber is used to maintain specified in
