    14、al years with reducing fraud associated with the use of checks. In 1995 X9 published Technical Guideline X9/TG-8, Check Security Guideline, as the first compilation of techniques for the reduction of check fraud encompassing the entire life cycle of the check. Since that time the X9B subcommittee co

    15、ntinued to be concerned about the growing problem of check fraud and as a consequence continued to meet to determine more specific methods for reducing fraud due to counterfeiting and alterations. This standard offers check printers and users of negotiable documents some deterrents to casual fraud.

    16、It is important to note that no single security feature or combination thereof can be 100% effective in preventing fraud. The feature options in themselves are not specified but described and summarized. The original 1998 version of this standard included the use of a visual identification lock icon

    17、 that was deemed obsolete on December 31, 2000. All references to this design have been removed from this standard. Use of the padlock icon requires the check printer to register their use of the padlock icon with the Check Payment Systems Association (CPSA). The padlock icon is a registered mark. F
