ASSE International acknowledges the work of the ASME A112.20.2 Committee in first developing a qualification standard for installers of firestop systems and device

11、s for piping systems; ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 9000 is based on this ASME standard, which was transferred to ASSE. ASSE International developed the voluntary consensus ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 9000, Professional Qualifications Standard for Firestop Systems and Smoke-Limiting Materials for Piping Systems

12、, which contains the uniform minimum requirements for qualified installers and inspectors of firestop systems. This was accomplished in the spirit of ASSEs century-old motto, “Prevention Rather than Cure.” Correctly installed firestop systems are critical to life safety in the built environment; the

13、refore, it is important that individuals who install and inspect firestop systems are qualified and certified. The Series 9000 was developed by a cross- section of industry experts and offers uniform requirements that can be used throughout the construction industry to protect health and safety. Thi
