6、er than Cure.” Prevention of contamination or pollution of potable water in plumbing systems is one of the major objectives of the ASSE Standards Program through the development and promulgation of Standards embracing performance criteria. In industrial and institutional cleaning operations, it is de

7、sirable and convenient to dispense cleaning solutions derived from potable water and concentrated products. A dispensing device connected to potable supply constitutes a cross-connection, which could be a source of contamination to the potable water. Devices providing this function often contain fea

8、tures that are intended to prevent this contamination. This standard identifies accepted methods of backflow protection, as well as test methods for evaluating backflow systems incorporated into a chemical dispensing system.Recognition is made of the time volunteered by members of this working group

9、 and the support of manufacturers, who also participated in the meetings for this standard. This standard does not imply ASSEs endorsement of a product that conforms to these requirements. Compliance with this standard does not imply acceptance by any code body. This standard was promulgated in accord

10、ance with procedures developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).This edition of the standard was approved by the ASSE Board of Directors on Oct. 3, 2016 as an ASSE Standard.Forewordiv Chemical Dispensing Systems ASSE Standard #1055-2016Edward J. Text near the critical level mark

32、 shall read, “Outlet shall be no higher than critical level.” Both mark and text shall be visible after installation on the outside of the device.g. The direction of flow, if part of the outlet uses an NHT hose thread per ASME B1.20.1The markings shall be either cast, etched, stamped or engraved on

36、the vacuum breaker device upstream of the pressure bleed device. This also protects against a cross-connection between hot and cold water migration by encouraging the user to turn off the water supply at the faucet.Chemical Dispensing Systems 7ASSE Standard #1055-2016Section V5.0 DefinitionsDefiniti
