A fuselage cut-out shall be provided to accomodate the tail end of the 8-52 H model symmetrically from the platform rear. There shall be a workin

、g floor area on both sides of the aircraft extending up to fuselage station 1824 shown in USAF Drawing 7747223 and having a minimum width of 42 inches. b. A removable saddle contoured adapter is required for use with the B-52G aircraft. The adapter shall easily be mounted and removed and shall reduc

、e cut-out depth by five inches at the tail end of the cut-out. The adapter is to prevent the front end of the upper floor from contacting the ALQ-117 antenna fairings. c. Boeing Company drawings 24-1071 and 34-1800 provide tail loft data for B-52 G & H models respectively. d. The cut-out shall allow

、 clearance to install bumper specified in paragraph 3.4.9 and a three inch clearance between the bumnper and the aircraft. e. ,A 30 inch minimum walk way width shall be provided to allow personnel to walk around the tail end of the aircraft. f. A 24 X 30 inch staircase landing shall be provided on t

、he upper floor forward end. g. A folding floor panel is required on the platform rear right (aircraft left side) to clear pneumatic syster access door opening and dragchute door handcrank rotation and to allow headroom when cranking from lower level floor. The floor panel shall meet the following re

、quirements: (1) Provide a five inch hand clearance for dragchute door handcrank turning. (2) Provide enough clearance to open and close pneumatic system access door when platform bumpers are against fuselage side. (3) The middle horizontal handrail behind the folding floor panel shall be I at an ele

、vation to allow a five inch hand clearance for swinging the folding floor panel to and from its opened position. O 4 Licensed by Information Handling ServicesMIL- M- 87977 ( US AF 1 (4) A stop mounted on the handrail behind the folding floor panel shall be provided to support the door in its opened

、position. The stop shall be made of angle iron at least .25 inches thick. A positive lock shall be provided in the opened or closed position. (5) A ladder grab handle shall be provided on the upper deck contour side next to the kickplate and forward of the folding floor panel. The handle shall be si

、milar to the lift handle on folding floor panel. The handle shall be sturdy enough to support 200 pounds without bending or breaking. 3.4.1.2 Lower Level Floor. The lower level floor shall provide adequate working area to safely operate the dragchute door handcrank and perform necessary dragchute in

、stallation connections and adjustments inside the pneumatic system access door. The handcrank throw is 8.5 inches and projects 10 inches. The door opens up and is locked open at an 80 angle. The lower level floor is required only on the right side of the stand (lef side of aircraft) and will start a

、t fuselage station 1824 and extend to 1873.50. It shall have a minimum width of 42 inches. The elevation and fuselage clearance of the lower level floor shall be as shown in USAF drawing 7747223. 3.4.1.3 Platform Section. The platform shall be designed in sections to allow assembly/disassembly and t

、ransporation capability. The sections shall be kept to a highway transportation cubage envelope 9 feet high by 8 feet wide by 20 feet long. 3.4.1.4 Platform Sections Lifting Provisions. Each maintenance platform section shall have lifting eyes with an inside diameter of at least 2 inches. The liftin

、g eyes shall not interfere with the assembly nor present a safety harzard after the platform is erected. The lifting eyes shall be located SO the crane can perform necessary positioning of the sections for assembly requiring the least manual handling. 3.4.1.5 Platform Section Weight Information. Eac

、h maintenance platform section shall have a data plate located in a conspicuous area indicating its weight. This is required for personnel safety and convenient lifting equipment selection. 3-4.2 Reliability. The maintenance platform reliability will be to the extent that all acceptance and pre-prod

、uction test requirements are successfully met. 3.4.3 Maintainability The maintenance platform shall be designed and constructed as specified herein and to provide the following: a. Minimum number of parts consistent with reliability and performance as specified. b. Minimum amount of training and tim

、e necessary for assembly, disassembly, location of trouble sources, and maintenance, including servicing. Where practical, parts and components shall be located or positioned for rapid and simple inspection and recognition of excessive wear or potential failure. c. Permit adjustments, servicing, rep
