Heat treatment shall be carried out under vacuum or protective atmosphere. Subsequent to a final reduction of the tube and prio

、r to chemical milling, external surfaces may be conditioned by belt polishing with a grit of 38 pm, or finer. Internal surfaces may be conditioned by grit blasting with a grit not larger than 150 pm. After final reduction and conditioning, tubes shall be chemically milled to remove a minimum depth o

、f 50 pm from the external surface and a minimum depth of 25 pm from the internal surface. After final heat treatment, rotary straightening of the tubes is not allowed. Stretch straightening up to a maximum of 2 % and light hand straightening is permissible. Straightening and stress relieving shall n

The wall thickness and outer diameter of each tube for pressure purposes shall be continuously determined and recorded over the entire length by either an ultrasonic method of measurement or an alternative method

、agreed between manufacturer and purchaser. For all methods of measurement an agreed resolution shall be established. The internal diameter of these tubes shall be calculated from the measurements made. 4.1.2 Visual examination Tube shall be examined for internal and external surface defects by visua

、required by the material standard or order. Testing shall be carried out in accordance with IS0 6772. Six tube samples from one batch for each size shall be tested. Tube shall show no leaks. 4.1.6 Eddy current testing When required by the material standard, eddy current testing shall be carried out

、in accordance with EN 2002-20. Each product shall be 100 % tested. The results shall meet the requirements of the material standard. 4.2 Mechanical tests When required by the material standard or order, mechanical testing shall be carried out in accordance with 4.2.1 to 4.2.5. The results shall meet

、 the requirements of the material standard or order. 4.2.1 Tensile tests Testing at ambient temperature shall be carried out in accordance with EN 2002-1. Tests on tubes for pressure purposes shall be carried out on the full tube cross-section. The overall length of the tube samples shall be at leas

、t 300 mm. Tests shall be performed at a frequency of two samples per batch. 4.2.2 Hydraulic distension tests Testing shall be carried out in accordance with EN 2002-1 8. Tests shall be performed at a frequency of one tube per batch. If the sample tube fails to comply with the requirements, samples f

、rom 25% of the tubes in the batch shall be tested. All additional test samples shall meet the requirements. 4.2.3 Flattening tests Testing shall be carried out in accordance with EN 2002-10. Tests shall be performed at a frequency of one end of two tubes per batch. Subsequent to the examination of t

、he external surfaces, the samples shall be cut longitudinally and the internal surfaces examined. When checked at three to five times magnification, the internal and external surfaces shall reveal neither cracks nor fractures nor any evidence of open tool chafing or grinding marks. Discontinuous sur
