It is published on green paper for the needs of AECMA-Members. It has been technically approvedby the experts of the concerned

Subsequent to the publication of this pre-standard, the technical content shall not be changed to an extent that interchangeability is affected, physically or functionally, without re-identification of the standard. After examination and signatu

    6、re of the AECMA Standard Checking Centre (NPS) and formal agreement of the Official Services of the Member countries it will be submitted as a draft European Standard to CEN (European Committee for Standardization) for final vote. .     8、 field of application This standard specifies a method of verifying the insertion and extraction forces of resilient female contacts by means of a gauge. . It shall be used together with EN 2591. 2 References EN 2591 Aerospace series - Elements of electrical and optical connection - Test methods - G

    9、eneral 3 Preparation of specimens 3.1 The removable contacts shall be tested outside ; the non removable contacts shall be tested in the element of connection. 3.2 Unless indicated in the techflical specification, the following details shall be specified : - maximum insertion force and minimum inser

    10、tion force, - gauges. 4 Apparatus The specimen shall be mounted in a suitable device so that increasing or decreasing loads may be applied for insertion or removal of the gauge defined by the technical specification. 5 Method 5.1 Number of specimens 30 specimens for each contact size. 5.2 Procedure

    11、The gauge shall be introduced into each female contact to a depth equal to at least 70 % of the female contact depth L (see figure 1). O , I) Figure 1 Prior to commencing measurement, the maximum size gauge shall be inserted and extracted three times. The insertion forces shall be measure

    13、d with the maximum size gauge. The extraction forces shall be measured with the minimum size gauge. 5.3 Requirements The forces measured shall meet the values specified by the technical specification.
