(See http:/www.eagle.org for the consolidated version of the Guide for Building and Classing Yach

Notes - The date in the parentheses means the date that the Rule becomes effective for new construction based on the contract date for construction, unless otherwise noted. (See 1-1-4/3.3 of the ABS Rules for Conditions of Classification (Part

PART 3 HULL CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT CHAPTER 2 HULL STRUCTURES AND ARRANGEMENTS SECTION 2 DESIGN PRESSURES 1 Displacement Motor Yachts (Paragraph 3-2-2/1.5, as follows:) 1.5 Design Heads for Superstructures and Deckhouses (1 October 2016) The design heads are to be not less than 1.5 m (4.92 f

    30、 bulkheads 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) for all other locations Where the use is made of special purpose aluminum extrusions or special welding techniques are utilized the minimum plate thickness, as given in 3-2-4/3.3.3 above, will be specially considered based on location, purpose and material grades. 3.3.4

    31、 Water Jet Tunnels and Transverse Thruster Tubes (Revise Item 3-2-4/3.3.4(b), as follows:) 3.3.4(b) Transverse Thruster Tunnels (1 October 2016). The thickness of the tunnel plating for the transverse thrusters is to be not less than the required thickness for the adjacent shell plating as calculate

    38、f/mm2, psi) 3.5 Internals 3.5.3 Proportions (Revise Item 3-2-4/3.5.3(a), as follows:) 3.5.3(a) Aluminum (1 October 2016). The web depth to thickness ratio is not to exceed 59 and the outstanding flange width to thickness ratio it to be not more than 12. For flat bar stiffeners the depth to thickness

    39、 ratio is in general not to exceed 12. The web depth in general is to be not less than twice the depth of cut-outs in the web. The webs of girders and transverse are to be suitably supported to provide internal stability. (Add new Item 3-2-4/3.5.3(b), as follows:) 3.5.3(b) Steel (1 October 2016). Th

    40、e web depth to thickness ratio is not to exceed 70 and the outstanding flange width to thickness ratio is to be not more than 15.     42、MENTS SECTION 6 HULL STRUCTURAL ARRANGEMENT 1 Structural Arrangement All Materials 1.3 Watertight Bulkheads (Revise Subparagraph 3-2-6/1.3.3, as follows:) 1.3.3 Collision Bulkhead (1 October 2016) Yachts are to be provided with a collision bulkhead fitted not less than 0.05Lfabaft nor, except as spe

    43、cially permitted further than 0.08Lfor 0.05Lf+ 3 m (9.84 ft), whichever is greater, from the reference point. The bulkheads are to be intact except for approved pipe penetrations, and are to extend to the main weather deck preferably in one plane. In yachts having long superstructures at the forward

    44、 end, the bulkheads are to be extended weathertight to the superstructure deck. Provided the extensions are not less than 0.05L abaft the stem at the design load waterline, they need not be fitted directly over the collision bulkhead. In such cases, the part of the deck forming the step is to be wea

    45、thertight. One door or opening with a watertight closing appliance maybe fitted in the collision bulkhead below the freeboard or main weather deck of yachts less than 30.5 m (100 ft) in length. This door or closure is to be kept closed and secured at sea, marked with a sign indicating that it is to

    46、remain dogged tight while the yacht is underway and provided with an indicator on the bridge showing whether the door or closure is open or closed. (Revise Subparagraph 3-2-6/1.3.4, as follows:) 1.3.4 Reference Point (1 October 2016) The reference point in determining the location of the collision b

    47、ulkhead is the forward end of Lfexcept that in the case of yachts having any part of the underwater body, such as the bulbous bow, extending forward of the forward end of Lf, the required distances are to be measured from a reference point located a distance forward of the forward end of Lf. This di

    48、stance, x, is the lesser of the following (see 3-2-6/Figure 1): i) Half the distance between the forward end of Lfand the extreme forward end of the extension, p/2 or ii) 0.015Lfiii) 3 m (9.84 ft) where Lfis as defined in 3-1-1/3.3. In any case, the collision bulkhead is to be abaft of the stem. The

    49、 forward end of Lfis to coincide with the fore side of the stem on the waterline at which Lfis measured. 8 ABSGUIDE FOR BUILDING AND CLASSING YACHTS .2016 Notice No. 2 October 2016 (Revise Subparagraph 3-2-6/1.3.6, as follows:) 1.3.6 Chain Locker (1 October 2016) i) For yachts with L over 61 m (200 ft), chain lockers and chain pipes are to be made watertight up to the weather deck.
