Thesemeasurementsaremadeattherequiredpositionsoneachcourse.Thetripodsattheinitial“back“and“at“ stationsareleftinpositiontoenableclosureofthetraverseoncompletionofthecalibration. Fromeachofthesubsequent,predeterminedstations,angularanddistancemeasurem

    33、entstothetopandbaseof thetankarethentaken,togetherwithtangentialangularmeasurementsbisecting(3.3)thetankshelltotheright andleftofthestation. Inmovingtoeachnewstation,theold“forward“stationbecomesthenew“at“stationandtheold“at“stationthe new“back“station.Thefinalmeasurementsaremadefroman“at“stationwhi

    34、chwastheinitial“back“station;the final“forward“stationistheinitial“at“station. Thesemeasurements,afteranyadjustmentsformisclosure,allowthecalculationofthreedimensionalcoordinates whicharefittedintoamatrixdescribingthetankmathematically.Thecircumferencesatthevariousvertical positionsonthetankshellare

    35、calculatedfromthisinformationandthecapacitytabledevelopedinaccordancewith ISO7507-1.ISO7507-5:2000(E)3 5 Precautions ThegeneralandsafetyprecautionscontainedinISO7507-1shallapplytothispartofISO7507. Inaddition,thelaseremittedbythedistancerangingunitshallconformtoIEC60825-1foraClass1orClass2 laser. Th

    36、eEODRinstrumentandotherelectricalequipmentshallhavealevelofelectricalprotectionappropriateforthe areaclassificationofthelocationofthetanktobecalibrated.(SeeIEC60079-10.) 6 Equipment 6.1 Electro-opticaldistance-ranginginstrument Theangularanddistance-measuringpartsoftheinstrumentshallconformto5.1ofIS

    39、entshallbemaintainedsothatthevaluesofitsmeasurementuncertaintydonotexceed thevaluesgivenin6.1. 7.2 Tanksshallonlybecalibratedaftertheyhavebeenfilledatleastoncewithaliquidofequalorgreater densitythantheliquidwhichtheywillholdwheninuse. NOTE Thehydrostatictestappliedtonewtankswillsatisfythisrequiremen

    40、tinmostcases.ISO7507-5:2000(E) 4 7.3 Ifthetankiscalibratedwhilstcontainingliquid,thecontentsshallremainstaticduringthecomplete calibration.Thedip(i.e.depth),temperatureanddensityoftheliquidshallbemeasuredandrecorded.However,if thetemperatureofthetankwalldiffersbymorethan10Cbetweentheemptypartoftheta

    41、nkandthefullpartof thetank,thetankshalleitherbecompletelyfullorempty.Notransfersofliquidtoorfromthetankshallbemade duringcalibration. 7.4 TheEODRinstrumentshallbeverifiedpriortocalibration. Theaccuracyofthedistance-measuringunit,aswellastheangularmeasuringunit,shallbeverifiedusingthe proceduresrecom

    42、mendedbythemanufacturer. NOTE TheappropriateproceduresgiveninannexAofISO7507-4:1995shouldbeusedfortheverificationofequipmentin thefield. 7.5 Calibrationshallbecarriedoutwithoutinterruption. 7.6 Theoverallheightofthereferencepointonthedip-hatchabovethedippingdatum-pointshallbemeasured usingadip-tapea

    43、nddip-weightconformingtoISO4512.Thisoverallheight,tothenearest1mm,shallbe recorded. 8 Determinationofthenumberofstations Thenumberofstationsusedinacalibrationisdependentonthenominaltankcircumference. Thenumberofstationsshallbedeterminedbythefollowingequation: N= C 8 where N isthenumberofstationsroun

    44、deduptothenearestevennumber; C isthenominalcircumferenceofthetank,inmetres. Theminimumnumberofstationsshallbenotlessthan8;anupperlimitof36stationsisacceptableunless circumstancesrequirethatmoremeasurementsbemade. NOTE Ifatankisabnormallydeformed,e.g.dentedornon-circular,thenumberoftangentialpointsan

    45、dreadingsshould beincreasedtotakeaccountoftheareasofdeformation. 9 Target-pointpositioning Twosetsoftangentmeasurementsshallbetakenateachstation.Ineachsetoftangents,measurementstotwo tangentspercourseshallbetaken,oneat1/5to1/4ofthecourseheightabovethelowerhorizontalseamandthe otherat1/5to1/4ofthecou

    46、rseheightbelowtheupperhorizontalseam.Inaddition,onthetopcourse,theextreme topofthetankshellshallbebisectedand,onthebottomcourse,theextremebottomofthecourseshallbe bisected. Anumberoftargetpointsgreaterthantheminimumnumberoftargetpointsrecommendedmaybechosen dependingonspecificcircumstancesandtankcon

    47、ditions(seethenoteinclause8).ISO7507-5:2000(E)5 10Instrumentset-up 10.1Precalibration Inspecttheareasurroundingthetanktooptimizethepositionofthestationsandallowfirmandstablepositioning ofthetripods,(asillustratedinFigure1).Ateachstation,the“back“and“forward“stationsshallbeclearlyvisible fromthe“at“s

    48、tation.Ensurethattherearenoobstructionstoclearlinesofsighttothetankbottom,topandsides. 10.2Set-upprocedures Setupthetripodsataheightwhichiscomfortableforalloperatives.Drivethetripodlegswellintothegroundto makethetripodsfirmandstable. Placetribrachsonthetripods. Seteachtribrachinthehorizontalplaneusi

    49、ngthefootscrews. PlacetheEODRinstrumentonthetribrachatthe“at“stationandlevelhorizontally. IftheEODRinstrumentiselectronicandcapableofautomaticlevelling,ensurethattheinstrumentislevelled.
