1、Designation: C1266 17Standard Test Method forFlow Characteristics of Preformed Tape Sealants1This standard is issued under the fixed designation C1266; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A nu

2、mber in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This test method describes a laboratory procedure fordetermining the flow characteristics of preformed tape sealantsafter a specified tim

3、e, temperature, and load.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. The inch-pound units given in parentheses areprovided for information purposes only.1.3 The committee with jurisdiction of this specification isnot aware of any similar specification within ISO or any other

4、organization.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2.

Summary of Tes

6、t Method4.1 The tape sealant to be tested is rolled into spherical ballsof equal weight. Four spherical balls are placed between twoaluminum plates, which are then compressed. A standardweight is placed on the test assembly for1hatroomtemperature. The height of the test assembly is measured todeterm

7、ine the rebound of the sample. The test assembly is thenplaced in an 88C (190F) oven with the standard weight on it.After 24 h the height of the test assembly is measured again todetermine the flow of the sample.5. Significance and Use5.1 Tape sealants are tacky, deformable solids, which areused und

On each plate mark four points32 mm (1.25 in.

These become the top surfaces.8.1.1.3 Stack the plates, and using the thickness gage, measure the combined height of two aluminum plates at theintersection of the diagonals.
