Scope1.1 This specification covers harnesses for human use intechnical rope rescue and climbing, mountaineering, caving,canyoneering, and other rope-b

    3、ased sport activities. It estab-lishes requirements for the testing, performance, and markingof harnesses and for the instructions that are supplied withthem.1.2 This specification may contain test methods that do notentirely simulate real-life situations. The test methods aredesigned to give reprod

    4、ucible results in a laboratory and,thereby, a means for product comparison.1.3 Three types of harnesses are covered by this specifica-tion: full body harnesses, sit harnesses, and chest harnesses.1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard. No other units of measurement are inclu

    5、ded in thisstandard.1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to

    8、able to this specification.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 adjusting device, nany device that allows adjust-ment to be made to the harness to suit the requirements of thewearer.3.2.2 authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), nanorganization, office, or individual responsible for

    9、enforcing therequirements of a code or standard, or for approvingequipment, materials, installation, or a procedure.3.2.3 belay/rappel loop, na loop intended for attaching abelaying or rappelling device to the harness.3.2.4 belt, nthe part of the harness that is around the waist.3.2.5 buckle, na con

    10、nector used for attaching webbingsegments together.3.2.6 load-bearing parts, nparts of the harness that trans-mit load during testing in accordance with Section 12.3.2.7 nonload-bearing parts, nother parts of the harness.3.2.8 rope attachment points, nparts of the harness in-tended for the attachmen

    11、t of a rope or lanyard.3.2.9 performance rating for a harness, na pass/fail des-ignation indicating if the harness has passed all required testspresented in this specification.4. Summary of Specification4.1 Representative samples of harnesses shall be tested forminimum strength.5. Significance and U

    12、se5.1 The strength of harnesses is one of the properties used toevaluate their suitability for a task.5.2 Marking and instructions aid in the selection and use ofharnesses.5.3 Due to the diverse requirements of various rescueactivities and environments, any of the included harness typesmay be suitab

    13、le for rescue, including those marketed princi-pally for climbing, and those with frontal and/or dorsalattachment points. Harness Labeling and Information6.1 The following information shall be affixed durably tothe harness:6.1.1 The location(s) and method

    18、of rope or lanyardattachments,6.1.2 The location(s) and method of rappel and belay deviceattachments,6.1.3 The method of properly using buckles and adjustingdevices,6.1.4 Manufacturers or distributors name and logo,6.1.5 The date of manufacture, and6.1.6 The size of the harness.6.2 The following inf

    19、ormation shall accompany the productthrough the point of sale:6.2.1 The weight of the harness,6.2.2 Performance rating, if applicable,6.2.3 Care and maintenance of the product,6.2.4 Life of ProductInformation about attributes thatindicate the product is worn out,6.2.5 If the product is primarily mar

    20、keted for climbing,mountaineering, or other sport activity; accompanying theproduct shall be a three-part statement designed to alertconsumers to the inherent risks in that targeted activity, and themost basic guidelines for use of the product. The warning shallread as follows:6.2.5.1 Failure to fol

    21、low these warnings increases the risk ofinjury of death.6.2.5.2 You are responsible for your own actions anddecisions.6.2.5.3 Special knowledge and training are required to usethis product.7. Performance Requirements7.1 During each of the tests described in Section 12,noload-bearing part shall break

    22、 completely. In addition, theharness shall not be released from the torso.7.2 The webbing in all buckles and adjusting devices shallslip no more than 20 mm.7.3 If there are multiple independent rope attachmentpoints, the tests shall be repeated for each rope attachmentpoint specified in the manufact

    23、urers instructions. If multipleattachment points are designed to be employed only incombination, as specified in manufacturers instructions (suchas side D-rings or shoulder D-rings), they shall be tested as acombination, with the combination meeting single-point per-formance standards.7.4 Each load-

    24、bearing attachment point on the harnessesshall be tested as described in Section 12, including belay/rappel loops, if present.8. Apparatus8.1 Body Shaped Torso (see Fig. 1),8.2 Tensile Test Machine, used to apply loads to the harness,and8.3 Load Cell, for measuring the tensile force applied to theha

    25、rness.9. Sampling, Test Specimens, and Test Units9.1 Harness test specimens shall be new and in unusedcondition, selected randomly from a production lot of a givenmodel of harness. They shall conform in all respects to themanufacturers specifications for the model to be tested andshall be the proper

    26、 size to fit the test torso. Two or moresamples shall be tested annually and after any design ormaterials change. A sample may be reused to test differentattachment points.10. Calibration and Standardization10.1 Test equipment is to be in compliance with PracticesE4 and other requirements specific t

    27、o the equipment.11. Conditioning11.1 Tests may be completed under ambient conditions. Incases of dispute, harness samples will be conditioned inaccordance with 11.2.11.2 The harness samples are first dried in an atmospherewith a relative humidity of less than 10 % for a period of 24 h.Then they are

    28、placed in an atmosphere of 50 6 5 % relativehumidity, 20 6 2C for a period of 72 h. Tests may then bedone outside the conditioning room, but the temperature shallbe 23 6 5C. The tests shall begin within 5 min of removalfrom conditioning and be completed within 4 h.12. Harnesses12.1 Full Body Harness

    29、es:12.1.1 The harness shall be put on a test torso and attachedto the test machine in accordance with the manufacturersinstructions for use.12.1.2 Upright Position of the Torso:12.1.2.1 The harness shall be loaded up to 800 6 10Ninthe upright position of the torso. Under this load, adjust thetorso a

    30、nd harness so that the attachment points are approxi-mately symmetric about the vertical axis of the torso.12.1.2.2 With the torso in an upright position, a tensile forceshall be applied to the lower ring, increasing to 16 + 0.30 kNover a period of 2 6 0.25 min. This tensile force shall be heldfor 1

    31、 6 0.25 min, and the tension then shall be completelyreleased over a maximum of 1 min. The tensile force shall bereapplied and increased to 16 + 0.30 kN as before and heldfor 3 6 0.25 min before release.12.1.3 Head-Down Position of the TorsoFollowing thesame set-up as in 12.1.1 and 12.1.2.1, with th

    32、e torso in ahead-down position, a tensile force shall be applied to theupper ring, increasing to 10 + 0.20 kN over a period of2 6 0.25 min. This tensile force shall be held for 1 6 0.25 min,and the tension then shall be completely released over amaximum of 1 min. The tensile force shall be reapplied

    33、 andincreased to 10 + 0.30 kN as before and held for 3 6 0.25min before release.12.1.4 The harness shall pass or fail according to 7.1 and7.2.F1772 172NOTE 1All linear dimensions are in millimetres, 65 mm.NOTE 2The dimensions are those of a torso developed by the UIAA for testing harnesses.NOTE 3Wai

See Fi

    35、g. 2.12.2.2.2 A tensile force shall be applied increasing gradu-ally to 1 + 0.10 kN over a period of 1 6 0.25 min. Mark thewebbing at the outer edge of the buckle. The tensile force shallbe increased to 10 + 0.20 kN over a period of 2 6 0.25 min.This tensile force shall be held for 3 6 0.25 min. Mar

    36、k thewebbing at the outer edge of the buckle. The tension then shallbe completely released over a maximum of 1 min. Unfasten thebuckle and measure the distance between the two marks.12.2.2.3 The harness shall pass or fail according to 7.1 and7.2.12.3 Chest Harnesses:12.3.1 Chest harnesses shall be t

    37、ested in combination with asit harness recommended by the manufacturer.12.3.2 Chest/sit harness combinations shall be tested as in12.1.2 and 12.1.3. Such testing does not remove the require-ment for sit harnesses to be tested separately.12.3.3 The harness shall pass or fail according to 7.1 and7.2.1
