10、etary.BSI, as a member of CEN, is obliged to publish EN ISO 27065:2017 as a British Standard. However, attention is drawn to the fact that during the development of this European Standard, the UK committee voted against its approval.The UK committee is of the opinion that the term pesticides, used w
11、ithin EN ISO 27065:2017, does not account for the diversity of chemical and biological ingredients that can be found in a given pesticide and this could be misleading and potentially dangerous for users.The UK committee also has concerns that one test chemicalProwl3.3 ECcan act as the sole determina
12、nt of performance for chemical protective clothing against the vast array of chemical families and active ingredients found within pesticides. As all permeation testing is based on pendimethalin (the main active ingredient in Prowl3.3 EC), this means that many materials may fail to meet the permeati
13、on requirements despite offering potentially good permeation resistance to many pesticides other than those containing a particular concentration of pendimethalin. The UK committee is therefore concerned that this could lead to equipment being over-engineered in order to protect against pendimethali
