10、nsmitted by the vehicle, or by the part of the vehicle defined, to the horizontal plane of contact, under static conditions. “Mass” means the essential quantity that produces weight and inertia phenomena of the vehicle or the vehicle component parts, i.e. the quantity expressed in terms of resistanc
11、e to acceleration. Masses and loads are measured with the vehicle stationary, and its road wheels in the straight-ahead position. 3.3 Under some definitions, certain elements are aster- isked (“I: these need not be included in the mass. Conversely others, which are not listed, such as fifth wheel, a
12、uxiliary anti- skid devices, may be added in the mass. In both cases, the manufacturer when specifying the vehicle mass corresponding to a given term shall indicate “IS0-M .I, and list afterwards any elements not delivered or added. If the mass of the driver is included, this fact shall be stated. 3
13、.4 Mass distribution on each axle (or on each tyre) can be indicated by adding an identification number for the cor- responding axle to the code, where axle No. 1 is the foremost axle. 15、sis dry mass: Mass of the bare chassis as a mechanical whole including only the parts strictly necessary for the operation intended by the manufacturer. For a bare motor vehicle chassis, therefore, if fuel, lubricants and coolant liquid (if needed) are supplied, the vehicle is capable of moving by i
