Scope*1.1 This specification2covers rod of low-carbon nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys (UNS N10276, N06022,N06035, N06044, N06455, N06058, and N06059), low-carbonnickel-molybd

Ordering Information4.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for material ordered under thisspecification. Examples of such requirements include, but arenot limited

Mechanical Properties and Other Requirements6.1 The mechanical properties of the material at roomtemperature shall conform to those shown in Table 3 and Table5.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variations7.1 DiameterThe permissible variations from the speci-fied diamete

    31、r shall be as prescribed in Table 2 and Table 4.7.2 Out of RoundnessThe permissible variation in round-ness shall be as prescribed in Table 2 and Table 4.7.3 Machining AllowancesWhen the surfaces of finishedmaterial are to be machined, the following allowances aresuggested for normal machining opera

    32、tions.7.3.1 As-finished (Annealed and Descaled)For diametersof516 to1116 in. (7.94 to 17.46 mm) inclusive, an allowance of116 in. (1.59 mm) on the diameter should be made for finishmachining.7.4 Length:7.4.1 Unless multiple, nominal, or cut lengths are specified,random mill lengths shall be furnishe

    33、d.7.4.2 The permissible variations in length of multiple,nominal, or cut length rod shall be as prescribed in Table 6.Where rods are ordered in multiple lengths, a14-in. (6.35-mm)length addition shall be allowed for each uncut multiple length.7.5 Ends:7.5.1 Rods ordered to random or nominal lengths

Sampling9.1 Lots for Chemical Analysis and Mechanical Testing:9.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall consist of one heat.9.1.2 A lot of bar fo

    37、r mechanical testing shall be defined asthe material from one heat in the same condition and specifieddiameter.9.2 Sampling for Chemical Analysis:9.2.1 A representative sample shall be obtained from eachheat during pouring or subsequent processing.9.2.2 Product (check) analysis shall be wholly the r

    38、espon-sibility of the purchaser.9.3 Sampling for Mechanical TestingA representativesample shall be taken from each lot of finished material.10. Number of Tests and Retests10.1 Chemical AnalysisOne test per heat.10.2 Tension TestsOne test per lot.10.3 RetestsIf the specimen used in the mechanical tes

    39、t ofany lot fails to meet the specified requirements, two additionalspecimens shall be taken from different sample pieces andtested. The results of the tests on both of these specimens shallmeet the specified requirements.11. Specimen Preparation11.1 Tension test specimens shall be taken from materi

    40、alafter final heat-treatment and tested in the direction of fabri-cation.11.2 Tension test specimens shall be any of the standard orsubsized specimens shown in Test Methods E8/E8M.11.3 In the event of disagreement, the referee specimenshall be the largest possible round specimen shown in TestMethods

    41、 E8/E8M.TABLE 6 Permissible Variations in Length of RodsRandom mill lengths 2 to 12 ft (610 to 3660 mm) long with not morethan 25 weight % under 4 ft (1.22 m).Multiple lengths Furnished in multiples of a specified unit length, withinthe length limits indicated above. Test Methods12.1 The chemical composition and mechanical propertiesof the material as enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined, in case of disagreement, in accordance with thefollowing ASTM methods:12.

The nickel composition shall be determined arith-metically by difference.12.1.2 Tension TestTest Methods E8/E8M.12.1.3 Method

    45、 of SamplingPractice E55.12.1.4 Determining Significant PlacesPractice E29.12.2 For purposes of determining compliance with thelimits in this specification, an observed value or a calculatedvalue shall be rounded in accordance with the rounding methodof Practice E29:Requirements Rounded Unit for Obs

Rejection should be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results

    48、 of the test, the producer orsupplier may make claim for a rehearing.15. Certification15.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserstating that material has been manufactured, tested, and in-spected in accordance with this spe

    49、cification, and that the testresults on representative samples meet specification require-ments. When specified in the purchase order or contract, areport of the test results shall be furnished.16. Product Marking16.1 Each piece of material12 in. (12.7 mm) and over indiameter shall be marked with the specification number, alloy,heat number, manufacturers identification, and size. Themarkings shall have no deleterious effect on the material or itspe
