19、e Rubber gasketed fittings.7 Grooves and Plain Ends7.1 Fittings using a grooved joining method shall have groove dimensions compatible with couplingscomplying with the requirements of the Standard for Rubber Gasketed Fittings for Fire-Protection Service,UL 213, intended to be used with the fitting.7
20、.2 Grooved fittings shall be permitted to have Standard or Proprietary groove dimensions.7.3 Fittings without grooves (plain-end) shall have fitting end dimensions compatible with couplingscomplying with the requirements of the Standard for Rubber Gasketed Fittings for Fire-Protection Service,UL 213
21、, intended to be used with the fittings.8 Rated Pressure8.1 A fitting 12 inch (305 mm) size or smaller shall be constructed for a minimum rated pressure of 175psig (1.2 MPa).8.2 A fitting of a size larger than 12 inches (305 mm) shall be constructed for a minimum rated pressureof 150 psig (1.0 Mpa).
22、9 Metallic Materials9.1 Metallic materials used in fitting samples submitted for investigation and test shall conform to theminimum physical property requirements of the latest edition of the applicable ASTM or equivalentmaterial standard as specified by the manufacturer.PERFORMANCE10 General10.1 Re
23、presentative sample fittings are to be subjected to the tests described in these requirements.10.2 Fittings shall be tested using couplings complying with the requirements of the Standard for RubberGasketed Fittings for Fire-Protection Service, UL 213, intended to be used with the fitting.APRIL 29,

25、tting.11.2 The fitting shall be assembled with couplings in accordance with the coupling manufacturersinstallation instructions. The ends of the test assembly are to be closed to provide for the assembly to bepressurized. The test assembly is to be water filled and the pressure increased to twice th
26、e rated pressurefor 1 minute.12 Hydrostatic Test12.1 A fitting shall be capable of withstanding, for 5 minutes without rupture, a test pressure equal to amultiple of the rated pressure as shown in Table 12.1.Table 12.1Hydrostatic test pressuresFitting size, NPS Multiple of rated pressureLess than 12

28、ifying symbol of the manufacturer or private labeler;b) Size of fitting;c) Distinctive model number or catalog designation; andd) Fittings that use proprietary grooves shall be marked with the following: “PG” or “Prop Grv”.13.1 effective August 3, 201713.2 The markings required by 13.1 (a), (b), and
29、 (c) shall be included in the form of legible letters andfigures on the fitting casting or on an etched or stamped brass or equivalently corrosion-resistant metalnameplate permanently attached to the fitting.13.3 For fittings fabricated from steel pipe, the markings required by 13.1 (a), (b), and (c

When fittings arefab
31、ricated from steel pipe, the year of manufacture may be marked in accordance with 13.3. The year ofmanufacture is permitted to be in code. Fittings produced in the last three months of a calendar year arepermitted to be marked with the following year as the date of manufacture.13.5 If a manufacturer
