The guards are to

The guards are intended to protectsprinklers from mechanical damage.1.2 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or syst
7、ems new or differentfrom those covered by the requirements in this Outline of Investigation, and that involve a risk of fire,electric shock, or injury to persons shall be evaluated using the appropriate additional component andend-product requirements as required to maintain the level of safety as o

15、on the manufacturers drawings.5 10 Pan Distribution Test5.1 The distribution of water from a sprinkler with its intended guard shall comply with the requirementsof the 10 Pan Distribution Test described in the Standard for Automatic Sprinklers for Fire ProtectionService, UL 199.5.2 In addition, the
16、water collection data from the water distribution tests with guards installed on thesprinklers shall be compared with the water collection data from the tests on the same sprinklers withoutthe guards installed. When significant variations in data between the two tests exist, the Fire Testdescribed i
17、n Section 8 is to be conducted.6 16 Pan Distribution Test6.1 Four sprinklers with their intended guard shall comply with the requirements of the 16 Pan DistributionTest described in the Standard for Automatic Sprinklers for Fire Protection Service, UL 199.6.2 In addition, the water collection data f
18、rom the water distribution tests with guards installed on thesprinklers shall be compared with the water collection data from the tests on the same sprinklers withoutthe guards installed.
