11、 tool.PERFORMANCE5 Grounding and Bonding Equipment5.1 Each specified connecting device intended for use with grounding and bonding equipment shallcomply with the requirements specified in 5.2.5.2 The crimp tool is to be used to assemble the specified connecting device in the intended manner tothe re
12、commended size, length, and type of wire in accordance with the Standard for Wire Connectors, UL486A-486B; or the Standard for Splicing Wire Connectors, UL 486C. Family considerations contained inthese Standards may be applied. The assembled connector is then to be subjected to the:a) Mechanical seq
13、uence as specified in the Standard for Wire Connectors, UL 486A-486B; orthe Standard for Splicing Wire Connectors, UL 486C; andb) Short-time current as specified in the Standard for Grounding and Bonding Equipment, UL467.6 Electrical Quick-Connect Terminals6.1 Each specified connecting device shall
14、comply with the requirements in the Standard for ElectricalQuick-Connect Terminals, UL 310, when tested in accordance with 6.2.6.2 The crimp tool is to be used to assemble the specified connecting device in the intended manner tothe recommended size, length, and type of wire in accordance with the S

Theassembled connector is then to be subjected to the:a) Crimp pull-out test;b) Temperature test;c) Current cycling test; andd) Test sequence for insulated terminals.DECEMBER 11, 2

17、 for Splicing Wire Connectors, UL 486C, when tested inaccordance with 7.2.7.2 The crimp tool is to be used to assemble the specified connecting device in the intended manner tothe recommended size, length, and type of wire in accordance with the Standard for Wire Connectors, UL486A-486B, or the Stan
18、dard for Splicing Wire Connectors, UL 486C. Family considerations contained inthese Standards may be applied. The assembled connector is then to be subjected to the:a) Static heating sequence;b) Mechanical sequence;c) Heating cycling test; andd) Test sequence for insulated conductors specified in UL
19、 486A-486B and UL 486C asapplicable.8 Ferrules8.1 Each specified connecting device shall comply with the requirements in the Standard for Bare andCovered Ferrules, UL 486F, when tested in accordance with 8.2.8.2 The crimp tool is to be used to assemble the specified connecting device in the intended
20、 manner tothe recommended wire in accordance with the Standard for Bare and Covered Ferrules, UL 486F. Familyconsiderations contained in these Standards may be applied. The assembled connector is then to besubjected to the:a) Tensile Test;b) Mold Stress Test; andc) Dielectric Voltage-Withstand Test.

22、ecessary number of samples of each specified connecting device to represent allcombinations as specified in the Standard for Grounding and Bonding Equipment, UL 467;Standard for Electrical Quick-Connect Terminals, UL 310; the Standard for Wire Connectors, UL486A-486B; the Standard for Splicing Wire
23、Connectors, UL 486C; and the Standard for Bareand Covered Ferrules, UL 486F.MARKINGS10 Details10.1 All required markings shall be permanent and legible. The following types of markings or theequivalent are considered permanent:a) Etched;b) Molded;c) Die-stamped;d) Paint Stenciled;e) Stamped or etche
24、d metal that is permanently secured; orf) Indelibly stamped on a pressure sensitive label secured by adhesive and complying with theStandard for Marking and Labeling Systems, UL 969.10.2 The inside cover of the crimp tool case specified in 4.1 shall be marked with the tool manufacturersname, tool ca
25、tegory number, the manufacturer and catalog numbers of all specified connecting device,number of crimps, and any other installation instructions necessary for the intended assembly and use.10.3 The crimp tool shall be marked with the tool manufacturers name, the tool catalog number, and thefollowing
