Theassembly shall be maintained in the vertical position throughout the tes

The header is to beprovided with an air-pressure gauge and connected through pressure reducers to a compressed air line. The pressure reducer is to be adjusted to supply a pressure of 30 psig (210 kPa) to the header and pipeassembly.6.3.3 If leakage is observed at any of the joints within 2

Ifleakage is not stopped with this further tightening, or if the product is of such a composition that jointsshould not be retightened after the product has cured, unacceptable performance shall be recorded andtesting shall be discontinued.6.3
34、.4 If no initial leakage is observed during the 24-hour period following sealing or re-sealing, thepressure is to be maintained at 30 psig (210 kPa) for a total of 90 days, during which time periodicobservations are to be made for evidence of leakage.6.3.5 At the end of the 90-day period, the assemb

36、 pressure of 300 psig(2070 kPa) for 15 minutes during which time it shall be observed for leakage.6.3.7 Acceptable test performance with respect to testing with ASTM Reference Fuel H is considered tocover also the suitability of the product for use with naphtha, benzene, kerosene, and petroleum oils
37、.6.3.8 For E25 applications (ethanol/gasoline blends from 0 to 25 percent ethanol), the product shall beevaluated in accordance with 6.3.1 6.3.6 using the E25a test fluid in place of ASTM Reference Fuel H.For E85 applications (ethanol/gasoline blends from 0 to 85 percent ethanol), the product shall
38、beevaluated in accordance with 6.3.1 6.3.6 in two separate assemblies, one filled with E25a test fluid andthe other filled with E85a test fluid in place of ASTM Reference Fuel H. The formulation of these test fluidsis described in E25a and E85a Test Fluids, Supplement SA. To establish an E85 rating,
39、 the product shallcomply with the maximum fuel loss requirement with both test fluids. Acceptable test performance withrespect to testing with E25a test fluid is considered to cover also the suitability of the product for use withgasoline, naphtha, benzene, kerosene, and petroleum oils.JULY 13, 2018

If leakage is observed at any of the joints within 24 hours, theleaking joints are to be re-tightened, to the prescrib

If the product is of such a composition that joints should not be retightened after the product hascured, the test shall be continued regardless of whether a seal was achieved.6.4.4 The assembly shall be blotted dry with a towel and allowed

If propaneor butane loss exceeds two-thirds of the total amount permitted to be lost as specified in 6.4.1,unacceptable performance shall be recorded and the tests shall be disco

This temperaturecorresponds to a pressure of 225 psig (1552 kPa) for propane and 56 psig (386 kPa) for butane. At theend of this time or prior to it if significant leakage is noted, the assembly shall be weighed to determinethe loss of propane or butane.
