2、on component glass OLED panelsGUIDANCE:Component OLED panels intended to be supplied to a manufacturing facility for assembly into a luminairecan be exempted from the treatment requirement. The following condition of acceptability can be used:“The edges / corners of the glass panel have not been eva
3、luated for sharpness and may pose a risk ofinjury when handled. Assembly operations should consider appropriate personnel safeguards.”RATIONALE FOR GUIDANCE:Clause 8.1 requires sharp edges of glass panels that are accessible to users to be treated to eliminatesharpness. The concern is for injury to
4、the hands during maintenance (such as cleaning) or service(replacing an internal component). However, common treatment options for mitigating sharp edges, whenapplied to very thin glass panels, have a high probability of causing panel damage.A luminaire assembly operation can include any number of t
5、echniques to limit personnel exposure tosharp edges, such as automated (machine) handling or the mandated use of tools or gloves.
