    9、ting of the technical National Differences included in the UL adoptionof the corresponding IEC standard.In its IEC-based standards, UL uses the notations indicated below to identify national difference type, andthese types are additionally noted in this document. The standard may not use all types o

    10、f thesedeviations.D1 - These are deviations which are based on basic safety principles and requirements, elimination ofwhich would compromise safety for U.S. consumers and users of products.D2 - These are deviations based on safety practices. These are deviations for IEC requirements that maybe acce

    11、ptable, but adopting the IEC requirements would require considerable retesting or redesign on themanufacturers part.DC - These are deviations based on the component standards and will not be deleted until a particularcomponent standard is harmonized with the IEC component standard.DE - These are dev

    12、iations based on editorial comments or corrections.DR - These are deviations based on the national regulatory requirements.Each national difference contains a description of what the national difference entails. Typically one of thefollowing words is used to explain how the text of the national diff

    13、erence is to be applied to the base IECtext:Addition / Add - An addition entails adding a complete new numbered clause, subclause, table, figure,or annex. Addition is not meant to include adding select words to the base IEC text.Deletion / Delete - A deletion entails complete deletion of an entire n

Mounting systemsevaluated in accordance with 10.17DV.3 may be tested with specific “types” of modules ascharacterized in accordance with 10.17DV.4.10.17DV.2 Building-Inte

    21、grated PV ModulesModules or panels intended for installation integral with or forming a part of the buildingsroof structure are referred to as building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPVs) and shall beevaluated in accordance with UL 790, as a Class A, B, or C roof covering material or roofcovering syste

    22、m.10.17DV.3 Building-attached photovoltaic moduleModules that are building-attached PV not building-integrated and are intended forstand-off or rack mounting in combination with a roof covering shall be evaluated inaccordance with the tests described in UL 2703, Fire Tests with respect to the firepe

    23、rformance requirements for Class A, B, or C when the module is marked as being firerated as specified in UL 61730-1, Clause 5.2.2.1. The module with its mounting system is tobe evaluated for Class A, B, or C so that the appropriate System Fire Class Rating can beused for building code compliance pur

    24、poses.10.17DV.4 Fire Type Testing10.17DV.4.1 A module intended for mounting on a roof may be represented by type inaccordance with the procedure given below, using the test method provided in Annex DVBof this document. This is done to simplify the evaluation of module types, roof-mountingconfigurati

    25、ons, and mounting systems. The use of fire typing as given in this section isoptional.10.17DV.4.2 A module intended for mounting on a roof (but not BIPVs) can be classifiedaccording to type based on its construction and the results of the fire tests detailed inAnnex DVB, Spread of Flame on Top Surfa

    26、ce (Section DVB.1) and Burning Brand on TopSurface (Section DVB.2). Module construction types shall be evaluated based on thefollowing characteristics of PV module and construction: (1) the superstrate material; (2)the encapsulant material; (3) the substrate material; and, (4) the frame type and geo

    27、metry(if any). The following types are representative of common module constructions and theirassociated fire characteristics:10.17DV.4.3 A Type 1, 4, or 7 module meets the following requirements:a) Construction: Glass superstrate of 3,6 0,76 mm (0,14 0,03 in); a polymericencapsulant between the sup

    28、erstrate and cells with a pre-lamination thickness of0,45 0,2 mm (0,018 0,008 in); either a polymeric encapsulant between the cellsand substrate with a pre-lamination thickness of 0,45 0,2 mm (0,018 0,008 in)and a polymeric substrate with nominal thickness no less than 0,30 mm (0,012 in)and no more

    29、than 0,64 mm (0,025 in) thickness or a combined substrate andencapsulant that meets the pre-lamination total thickness equal to an encapsulantthickness of 0,45 0,2 mm (0,018 0,008 in) and a polymeric substrate withnominal thickness no less than 0,30 mm (0,012 in) and no more than 0,64 mmthickness (0

    31、theprocedure given in Section DVB.1. For Type 1, the allowable spread of flame of1,82 m (6 feet) or less in 10 minutes. For Type 4, the allowable spread of flame is3,96 m (13 feet) or less in 4 minutes. For Type 7, the allowable spread of flame is2,4 m (8 feet) or less in 10 minutes.c) Burning Brand

    32、 Test on Top Surface: The test shall be conducted using theprocedure given in Section DVB.2 using a C Brand. For Type 1, 4, and 7, passingresults using a C Brand shall be demonstrated.10.17DV.4.4 A Type 2, 5, or 8 module meets the following requirements:a) Construction: Glass superstrate of 3,6 0,76

    38、 of 2,67 0,76 mm (0,105 0,030 in) without framing.b) Spread of Flame Test on Top Surface: The test shall be conducted using theprocedure given in Section DVB.1. For Type 3, 10 and 13, the allowable spread offlame of 1,82 m (6 feet) or less in 10 minutes. For Type 6, 11, and 14, theallowable spread o

    39、f flame is 3,96 m (13 feet) or less in 4 minutes. For Type 9, 12,and 15, the allowable spread of flame is 2,4 m (8 feet) or less in 10 minutes.c) Burning Brand Test on Top Surface: The test shall be conducted using theprocedure given in Section DVB.2. For Type 3, 6, and 9, passing results using a CB
