    9、 listing of the technical National Differences included in the UL adoptionof the corresponding IEC standard.In its IEC-based standards, UL uses the notations indicated below to identify national difference type, andthese types are additionally noted in this document. The standard may not use all typ

    10、es of thesedeviations.D1 - These are deviations which are based on basic safety principles and requirements, elimination ofwhich would compromise safety for U.S. consumers and users of products.D2 - These are deviations based on safety practices. These are deviations for IEC requirements that maybe

    11、acceptable, but adopting the IEC requirements would require considerable retesting or redesign on themanufacturers part.DC - These are deviations based on the component standards and will not be deleted until a particularcomponent standard is harmonized with the IEC component standard.DE - These are

    12、 deviations based on editorial comments or corrections.DR - These are deviations based on the national regulatory requirements.Each national difference contains a description of what the national difference entails. Typically one of thefollowing words is used to explain how the text of the national

    13、difference is to be applied to the base IECtext:Addition / Add - An addition entails adding a complete new numbered clause, subclause, table, figure,or annex. Addition is not meant to include adding select words to the base IEC text.Deletion / Delete - A deletion entails complete deletion of an enti

    14、re numbered clause, subclause, table,figure, or annex without any replacement text.Modification / Modify - A modification is an altering of the existing base IEC text such as the addition,replacement or deletion of certain words or the replacement of an entire clause, subclause, table, figure,or ann

    25、trap orclip fitted into an adjacent part, or by an equivalent method.7.1.1DV.2 For Canada and the USA, where parts are held together by screws, a threadedpart shall not have fewer than two full, clean-cut threads. Threads shall not be finer than12-24, 10-32, 8-32, and 6-36 if the screw extends all t

Ifthe screw does not extend all the way through the threaded part, it shall engage full,clean-cut threads for a distance of not less than the diameter of the screw.7.1.1DV.3 Copper and brass are not acceptable for the plating of an iron or steelwire-binding screw, n

    27、ut, or stud terminal, but a plating of zinc is acceptable.7.1.2DV D2 Modification by adding the following:7.1.2DV.1 A mounting-screw hole shall be located or countersunk so that there will be aspacing of not less than 12.7 mm over the surface of the insulating material between thehead of the screw o
