、rd (This foreword is informative only and is not part of this Standard.) This specification is from TIA Standards Proposal Number 2085, formulated under the cognizance of TIA FO-6.3, Subcommittee on Fiber Optic Interconnecting Devices. This Specification forms a part of a set of TINEIA standards tha
、t systematically specif es perf or mance requi rements for branc hi ng devices. Th is hierarchical specification system comprises four tiers: The Generic Specification, TIA/EIA-6200000, is the umbrella document for all branching device specifications. It delineates minimum requirements that are comm
、on to all branching device types, as well as providing a “shopping list“ of test requirements and test methods that may be applied to families of branching devices targeted toward various applications, and to specific groups of branching device designs; Sectional Specifications define requirements f
、or branching device families, ordered by primary application. They set forth requirements applicable to all branching devices in the family. Sectional Specifications reference the Generic Specification, extracting requirements applicable to the branching device family. They may introduce other requi
、rements that are not addressed in the Generic Specification. Values for most requirements are delegated specifically to the Detail Specifications; Blank Detail Specifications are prepared for a limited series of branching device subfamilies that fall within the family of the relevant Sectional Speci
、fication. They give specific directions for writing Detail Specifications and may introduce additional requirements that are not addressed in the higher-order documents; Detail Specifications follow the applicable Blank Detail Specification and provide detailed requirements for specific applications
、. They also may introduce additional requirements not addressed in the higher-order documents. Values for primary performance requirements are given in the Detail Specifications. Detail Specifications may be written by TIA Working Groups or by manufacturers. Some attributes may be delegated to the p
、rocurement document. The procurement document references the applicable Detail Specification. For additional information on this system of Specifications, refer to EIA Engineering Publication EP-11 -A. iii EIA TIA-b20AA00 75 3234600 0563333 7T7 TINEIA-620AAOO (This page left blank.) iv EIA TIA-b20AA
、00 75 3234600 0563114 635 TINE IA-620AAO O 1 Introduction 1.1 Intent Use this document in the preparation of Detail Specifications for Single-Mode Fibre Optic Branching Devices for outside plant applications. General instructions follow. Prepare Detail Specifications by filling in the blanks in the
、Blank Detail Specification front page and forms. These outline forms, when completed, will provide requirements for the design, operational parameters, and quiality assessment for passive branching devices. The forms are intended to be an aid in constructing a Detail Specification and may be modifie
、d as necessary. This Blank Detail Specification is a supplementary document to Sectional Specification TINEIA-620A000 and contains requirements for style, layout, and minimum content of Detail Specifications for fiber optic branching devices. Detail Specifications may be prepared from this Blank Det
、ail Specification by suppliers of passive branching devices or by TIA Subcommittees or Working Groups. 1.2 Scope This Specification applies to uniform (equal splitting ratio) single-mode passive branching devices that are designed for outside plant applications. 2 Normative references This Blank Det
、ail Specification is derived from Sectional Specification TIA/EIA- 620A000, “Sectional Specification For Single-Mode Fiber Optic Branching Devices For Outside Plant Applications,“ (henceforth called the “Sectional Specification“ throughout this document). The Sectional Specification is derived from
、Generic Specification TINEIA-6200000, I Generic Specification For Passive Optical Branching Devices ,I (henceforth called the “Generic Specification“ throughout this document). 3 General instructions The preparer of a Detail Specification shall describe a particular product with appropriate descript
、ive information as required in this Blank Detail Specification. Follow the content of 3.2, 4, and 5 of the Sectional Specification. 1 EIA TIA-620AA00 75 = 3234600 0563LL5 571 When the tables have been completed, and other information and requirements added (as appropriate) to the Detail Specificatio
、n, the completed Detail Specfication shall be forwarded to the EIA National Standards Organization Manager for review of format and conformance with the Blank Detail Specification. If accepted, an TINEIA Detail Specification number will be assigned. See 2.6.1 of the Generic Specification further det
、ails on the EIA system of numbering. The following information shall be given in each Detail Specification: 3.1 Minimum list of attributes Tables 1 through 3 in 5.3 of the Sectional Specification give the minimum list of attributes that shall be specified in the Detail Specification. 3.2 Additional
、attributes The Detail Specification may contain additional attributes to reflect increased requirements or severities. These additions, if any, shall be added to the Detail Specification in Tables 1 through 3 or the text as appropriate. Additional testing groups may be included as required. 4 Prepar
、ation Several steps, detailed below, are necessary to prepare a Detail Specification. The following worksheet is intended to aid in the preparation of Detail Specifications. Spaces are provided for entering the information. When the spaces are completed, the Detail Specification can be drafted in it
、s final form. The spaces are identified by numbers between brackets. Instructions for completing these numbered spaces are given below. When drafting the final Detail Specification, eliminate the bracketed instruction num bers. 4.1 Detail specification front page Figure 1 shows the format for the fr
、ont page of the Detail Specification. Include the following information in the spaces designated by the clause numbers in square brackets. Number the front page “i“ and center it at the bottom of the page. Leave the following (back) page blank. 4.1.1 Headers and footers If the Detail Specification i
、s being prepared for TIA FO-6 letter ballot, place the TIA- assigned Project Number (PN) as the first line of the header. The second line shall include the number of the Detail Specification, assigned by TIA, such as “(to be TINEIA-OAAXX).“ The footer shall include the identity of the Working Group
、or manufacturer, the identity of the Subcommittee, and the preparation date. 2 EIA TIA-b20AA00 75 W 323VbOO 05b3LLb 408 TINEIA-620AAOO If the Detail Specification is being prepared for Standards Proposal (SP) ballot, keep the same Project Number, but change “PN“ to “SP.“ The second line of the heade
、r stays the same. Make the date on the footer current. When the camera-ready copy of the Detail Specification is submitted to TIA for Technical Standards Subcommittee (TSSC) review, drop the SP number altogether; remove the parentheses and the words “to be“ from the specification number; and remove
、all footers. NOTE: When a manufacturer prepares The Detail Specification, no ballot is necessary; hence there is no need for headers, footers, and project numbers. 4.1.2 Title Include a descriptive title in bold-face type on the front page. It shall contain the words “Detail Specification,“ and incl
、ude a brief description of the branching device and application(s). Include the name of the preparer and/or organization just under the title. Example: Detail Specification Single-Mode Fiber Optic Branching Devices For Outside Plant Applications Prepared by TIA FO-6.3.5 Working Group, “Passive Fiber
、 Optic Branching Devices.“ 4.1.3 TIA/EIA Provide the name and address of the Telecommunications Industry Association/Electronic Industry Association, under whose authority the Detail Specification is to be issued. 4.1.4 Detail Specification number Include the TINEIA number of the Detail Specificatio
、n, the date of issue, and any further information required by the national system. Example: Detail Specification TINEIA-OAAXX Mo-Da-Yr Month-Day-Year 4.1.5 Generic Specification number Include the number of the TINEIA Generic Specification. Example: Electronic Components of Assessed Quality in Accordance with Generic Specification TIA/EIA-6200000 3 EIA TIA-620AA 95 3234b00 0563LL7 344 W TINEIA-620AAOO 4.1.6 Blank Detail Specification number Include the number of the Blank Detail Specification from which the Detail Specification was derived. Example: Blank Deta
