25、osal No. 1866 formulated under the cognizance of TIA F0.6.3, Subcommittee on Fiber Optic Interconnecting Devices.) This Specification forms a pari of a set of TINEIA standards that systematically specifies performance requirements for fiber optic passive branching devices. This hierarchical specific
26、ation system comprises four tiers: The Generic Specification is the umbrella document for all branching device specifications. It delineates minimum requirements that are common to all branching device types, as well as providing a “shopping list“ of test requirements and test methods that may be ap
27、plied to families of branching devices targeted toward various applications, and to specific groups of branching device designs; Sectional Specifications define requirements for branching device families, ordered by primary application. They set forth requirements applicable to all branching devices

They may introduce other requirements that are not addressed in the Generic Specification. Values for most requirements are delegated specifically to the D

They give specific directions for writing Detail Specifications and may introduce additional requirements that are n

They also may introduce additional requirements not addressed in the higher order documents. Values for primary performance

In this Standard the devices considered have all of the following general feat u res : - The devices are passive in that they contain no optoelectronic or other transducing elements and require no external power. - Fiber optic branching devices are devices which have three or more ports for
43、 the ingress and/or egress of light and operate to distribute light among these ports in a predetermined fashion. - The fiber optic branching devices have ports which are optical fibers or optical fiber connectors exclusively. This standard does not cover the specification for connectors used with p
