The existence of such Publications shall not in any respect preclude any member or non-member of TIA from manufacturing or selling products not conforming to such Publications. Neither shall the existence of such Documents preclude their volunta

TIA DOCUMENTS TIA Documents contain information deemed to be of technical value to the industry, and are published at the request of the originating Committee without necessarily following the rigorous public review and resolution of
、 comments which is a procedural part of the development of a American National Standard (ANS). TIA documents shall be reviewed on a five year cycle by the formulating Committee and a decision made on whether to reaffirm, revise, withdraw, or proceed to develop an American National Standard on this s
、ubject. Suggestions for revision should be directed to: Standards FO-6.6, Subcommittee on Optical Fibers and Materials, and FO-6.6.5, Working Group on Single-Mode Fibers. This Specification forms a part of a set of TINEIA standards that systematically specifies performance requirements for optical f
、iber. This hierarchical specification system comprises four tiers: - The Generic Specification, TlA/EIA-4920000-B, is the umbrella document for all optical fiber specifications. It delineates minimum requirements that are common to all optical fiber types, as well as providing a “shopping list“ of t
、est requirements and test methods that may be applied to families of fiber targeted toward various applications, and to specific groups of fiber designs. - Sectional Specifications define requirements for fiber families, ordered by primary design (e. g., multimode, single-mode). They set forth requi
、rements applicable to all fibers in the family. Sectional Specifications reference the Generic Specification, extracting requirements applicable to the fiber family. They may introduce other requirements that are not addressed in the Generic Specification. Values for most requirements are delegated
、specifically to the Detail Specifications. - Blank Detail Specifications are prepared for a limited series of fiber subfamilies that fall within the family of the relevant Sectional Specification. They give specific directions for writing Detail Specifications and may introduce additional requiremen
、ts that are not addressed in the higher-order documents. - Detail Specifications follow the applicable Blank Detail Specification and provide detailed requirements for specific applications. They also may introduce additional requirements not addressed in the higher-order documents. Values for prima
、ry performance requirements are given in the Detail Specifications. Detail Specifications may be written by TIA Working Groups or by manufacturers. Some attributes that are normally expected to vary among purchases (e. g., length) may be delegated to the procurement document. The procurement documen

、nd footers: If the Detail Specification is being prepared for TIA FO-6 letter ballot by a Working Group or Subcommittee, place the TIA-assigned Project Number (PN) as the first line of the header. Just below this goes the number of the Detail Specification, assigned by TIA, such as “(To be TIA/EIA-4
、92EAxx).“ The footer shall appear on each page of Figures 1 and 2 and shall include the initials of the author (or the identity of the Working Group or Subcommittee, or both), the name of TIAS sponsoring Subcommittee, and the preparation date. When the Detail Specification is being prepared for Stan
、dards Proposal (SP) ballot, keep the same Project Number, but change “PN“ to “SP.“ The second line of the header stays the same. Make the date on the footer current. When camera-ready copy of the Detail Specification is being submitted to TIA for Technical Standards Subcommittee (TSSC) review: drop
、the SP-xxxx number altogether; remove the parentheses and the words “To be“ from the specification number; and remove all footers. NOTE - When a fiber manufacturer prepares the Detail Specification, no ballot is necessary; hence there is no need for headers, footers, and Project Numbers. (TIA assign
