TEST SAMPLE 3.1 The test specimen dimensions will depend on the cable jacket

25、 diameter and thickness. The method of specimen preparation should be specified in the cable Detail Specification. 3.2 If not otherwise specified, and if the cable diameter permits, slab specimens shall be cut from the jacket 5 cm (2 inches) long by 1.3 cm (0.5 inch) wide. The jacket thickness shall

26、 not be reduced in preparation of the slab unless specified in the Detail Specification. 3.3 Small diameter cable jackets may be cut as a section 15 cm (6 inches) long, or as specified, from a cable sample 1.0 meter (39 inches) long immediately prior to the test. 3.4 The specimen shall be marked wit

27、h reference marks in the direction of extrusion. These marks on slab specimens are to made at the mid-point of the width. Record the distance (Do) between the reference marks.
