    1、 TIA-1161 February 2010 Evolution of Ultra Mobile Broadband - System Requirements Document NOTICE TIA Engineering Standards and Publications are designed to serve the public interest through eliminating misunderstandings between manufacturers and purchasers, facilitating interchangeability and impro

    2、vement of products, and assisting the purchaser in selecting and obtaining with minimum delay the proper product for their particular need. The existence of such Standards and Publications shall not in any respect preclude any member or non-member of TIA from manufacturing or selling products not co

    3、nforming to such Standards and Publications. Neither shall the existence of such Standards and Publications preclude their voluntary use by Non-TIA members, either domestically or internationally. Standards and Publications are adopted by TIA in accordance with the American National Standards Instit

    4、ute (ANSI) patent policy. By such action, TIA does not assume any liability to any patent owner, nor does it assume any obligation whatever to parties adopting the Standard or Publication. This Standard does not purport to address all safety problems associated with its use or all applicable regulat

    5、ory requirements. It is the responsibility of the user of this Standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to determine the applicability of regulatory limitations before its use.     22、bile Broadband. It is expected that the wireless telecommunication systems will further evolve in the upcoming decade, continuing on the path of techological innovation, fostering new services and capabilities. Increased efficiency and flexibility in setting up and operating wireless networks is exp

    23、ected to enable ease of deployment and operation from operators perspective. By the same token, these enhancments are aimed at making services easier to use and better in performance from users perspective. The intent of this document is to outline the appropriate requirements, which will govern the

    24、 development of radio interface and IOS specifications to address likely improved performance goals, and more flexible deployment models (meshed network topologies, mix of macro, pico, and femto cells). 2 REFERENCES Unless explicitly stated in the reference, references are to the latest revision, ad

    28、ity with easy-to-install Micro, Pico, and Femto cells, as needed, or autonomously driven by demand (e.g. femto cell installation in peoples homes autonomously provisions coverage and capacity where it is most needed) UMBA-02: Enhanced UMB femto cells shall be capable of core network discovery and se

    29、lf-configuration of radio and other parameters. UMBA-03: Enhanced UMB femto cells shall support restricted access to only specific sets of authorized ATs (e.g. deployed at home or private enterprise). UMBA-04: Enhanced UMB shall allow operation over co-existing public and private infrastructure, e.g

    31、io interfaces developed by 3GPP2 (e.g., HRPD), shall support heterogeneous infrastructure consisting of macro cells, alongside micro, pico, and femto cells with progressively lower transmit power. UMBA-06: Enhanced UMB should support adaptive interference management for efficient dense deployments.

    32、UMBA-07: Enhanced UMB system shall support mesh networking. Note 1: In mesh networks, any AP can become Relay Station (RS). Access and backhaul may use the very same frequency, but other arrangements are feasible, including cross-band (using one band for radio access, and another band for backhaul).

    33、 The background of this requirement is overall spectral and system efficiency, and ease of operation/deployment, which may be enhanced by meshing and RS support. Note 2: Support for mesh networking is required in the standards, but optional for delpoyment. UMBA-08: Enhanced UMB Physical and MAC laye

    34、rs should support upper layer protocol simplifications (e.g. RLP etc.) for highly optimized, extremely high user data rates. 5.3 Services UMBA-09: Enhanced UMB should support enhancements for position location (e.g., improved reliability and accuracy of position fixes; such as HDP or other methods;

    35、any potential service architecture improvements that make the service more efficient) UMBA-10: Enhanced UMB should support BCMCS enhancements (e.g., enhancements designed to better support existing or proposed public warning systems; BCMCS with more narrowly defined geographical targeting of broadcast/multicast contents). 2009 3GPP2
