The Satellite Network Modem System (SNMS) standard defines the technical requirements for meeting the functio

This SNMS standard defines the requirements for Hub-Spoke as well as Mesh satellite network topologies operating over transponded/transparent satellite systems. As stated previously, TIA-1073 is a multi-part standard. The collection of parts making up thi

The present document, SNMS General Requirements (TIA-1073.000), provides the general requirements necessary to achieve SNMS interoperability for hub-spoke and mesh network topologies. The general requirements that shall be met by the SNMS referen

These referenced publications are freely available at http:/www.etsi.org. Specifically, the SNMS shall fully meet the DVB-RCS and DVB-S2 requirements in ETSI EN 301 790 and

29、ETSI EN 302 307 2, 3 unless otherwise specified by this document. In addition, the general requirements specify modifications to, additions to, and/or deletions to the specifications in 2, 3, and other requirements necessary to provide the capabilities described in TIA/EIA-157. These modifications u

47、llite systems. An RCS Mesh network can simultaneously support both standard RCS terminals and terminals with Mesh capability. An RCS mesh network contains a central Hub that generates a forward link TDM signal defined by ETSI EN 302 307 that is received by all terminals on the network 3. All termina

48、ls can transmit back to the hub using one or more burst TDMA return link channels defined by ETSI EN 301 790 2. In addition to this DVB-RCS Hub-Spoke functionality, some of the terminals also have the capability to receive one or more RCS burst TDMA return link channels. This gives the Mesh terminal

49、s the capability to communicate with each other directly without going through the Hub. Mesh terminals can simultaneously share RCS return channels with other Mesh terminals as well as Hub-Spoke only capable terminals. The Hub controls all return channel configuration, control, and resource management just as in RCS networks defined by ETSI EN 301 790 2. The framework for mesh connection control signaling is defined by the Connection Control Protocol (C2P) in Annex J of ETSI TR 101 790 5.
