This Telecommunications Systems Bulletin has been developed by Subcommittee TR-45.6, and contains information which may be useful to implementors of systems compliant with TSB-87, “Cellular Digital Packet

    32、Data System Specification,“ or its derivatives. This document contains significant portions of material originally submitted by the Cellular Digital Packet Data Forum Inc. CDPD is a technology intended to provide packet data networking services to mobile hosts. The media used to provide these servic

    33、es consists of radio channels typically used for Advanced Mobile Phone System (AMPS) cellular service. o. 1 Document Structure This Telecommunications Systems Bulletin is published as a series of Parts. Each Part contains information pertaining to one aspect of the system. The functional structure o

    37、 external interfaces (such as that between the Subscriber Unit (SU) and the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and multicasts from the perspective of each of the participating entities.     39、d Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) Service Providers and manufacturers intending to build equipment for use in the CDPD internal network. This Part does not directly impact CDPD subscribers or Mobile End System (h4-ES) manufacturers. This Part &sumes that the reader is familiar with CDPD in gener

    40、al, as presented in The 600 series of Parts in IS-732 contain specifications of normative CDPD Support Services. This series of Parts from 1012 to 1019 defines additional, non-normative, network support services for potential use by CDPD Service Providers. These parts specify the CDPD Directory Serv

    41、ices (Part 1013), the CDPD Subscriber Directory Profile (Part 1 O1 5). Accounting Summary and Settlement (Part 1016), Remote Activation (Part 1017), the Authentication Services (Part 1 O 18), and Location Services (Part 1 O 19). Although the CDPD Network supports multiple protocols at the Network La

    42、yer, all CDPD Network Support Services are based on ISO/OSI protocol suites. Message Handling Services (MHS). 1.2 CDPD Support Services Overview 1.2.1 M-ES Authentication This service provides the corroboration that the M-ES is as claimed. CDPD Network Support Services based

    46、 on use of Directory Services that may be used to obtain the information needed to authenticate M-ESs are defined in Part 1018. 1.2.2 Subscriber Profiles Support services based on use of Directory Services that may be used to maintain subscriber profiles are defined in Part 1015. Subscriber profiles
