This document is an addendum to

27、TIA TSB-31-D, Telecommunications Telephone Terminal Equipment Rationale and Measurement Guidelines for U.S. Network Protection. It was developed to revise a number of incorrect cross references to TIA-968-B, clarify grounding requirements for longitudinal voltage measurements, remove the test proced

28、ures and REN calculation information for Type B ringing in conjunction with the changes being made by Addendum 3 to ANSI/TIA-968-B, and add DSL FAST measurement procedures. There is also a correction to TIA TSB-31-D-2 contained within this addendum. It has been clearly identified when this addendum

29、is modifying the text of TSB-31-D-2. This addendum was produced by Subcommittee TR-41.9, Technical and Administrative Regulatory Considerations. It was developed in accordance with TIA procedural guidelines, and represents the consensus position of the Subcommittee, which served as the formulating g

They should be sent to: Telecommunications Industry Association Technology and Standards Department Suite 200 1320 North Courthouse Road Arlington, VA 22201 ( http:/www.tiaonline.org ) TSB-31-D-4 1 1. SCOPE This addendum provides changes

33、to TSB-31-D, Telecommunications Telephone Terminal Equipment Rationale and Measurement Guidelines for U.S. Network Protection and to its addendum TSB-31-D-2. Where the text of TSB-31-D-2 is modified in clause 2 it is clearly identified. Clause 2 of this document provides the corrections to numerous

34、clauses within TSB-31-D and TSB-31-D-2. Clause 3 of this document provides revised text for the grounding requirements of sub-clause 9.15.8 and 9.17.8 of TSB-31-D to clarify that any metal components of a device not normally connected to ground should not come in contact with the ground plane during

35、 testing. Clause 4 of this document provides changes to sub-clause 5.5, Suggested Equipment List (SEL) of TSB-31-D and provides changes to the following ringing-signal-related sub-clauses under Clause 11, ON HOOK IMPEDANCE LIMITATIONS of TSB-31-D: Sub-clause 11.2, DC Current During Ringing Sub-claus

36、e 11.3, AC Impedance During Ringing Sub-clause 11.4, REN Calculation. Clause 5 of this document provides completely new sub-clauses to add the test methods for assessing DSL FAST technology to TSB-31-D. The other clauses and sub-clauses in TSB-31-D are not affected. For the changes provided in Claus

37、e 2, 3 and 4, additions to the text are shown underlined and deletions are shown using strikeout. The completely new sub-clause text in Clause 5 is not otherwise marked. Words that appear in underlined italics are intended as instructions to the reader. 2. MODIFICATIONS TO EXISTING TSB-31-D TEXT 2.1

For an EUT that does not normally transmit signals toward the network interface in the off-hook state, the idle (nontransmitting) state is to be tested. For data signals, the EUT is tested in accordance with

44、subclause 8.49.4. 9.1.8 Comments (3) As mentioned in subclause 9.1.1, the level of live-voice signals areis not covered regulated under 47 C.F.R. Part 68by TIA-968-B. Recorded or synthesized signals are not live-voice signals and, as such, are coveredregulated by 47 C.F.R. Part 68TIA-968-B. Typicall

45、y there are three types of signals to consider: Modify sub-clause 9.4 as follows: 9.4.1 Background EUT with through-transmission paths that may be connected to data equipment are not to use the fixed loss loop or programmed data jack configurations unless they are approved in accordance with Section

46、 4.4.2.25.1.2.7 of TIA-968-B. The rule restricts the use of the fixed loss loop and programmed data jack configurations. These jack configurations are to be used only on equipment specifically designed for data signals with power levels that comply with Section 4.4.2.25.1.2.7 of TIA-968-B. Modify sub-clause 9.5 as follows: 9.5 Voiceband Signal Power - Data TIA-968-B, 4.4.2.25.1.2.7
