Service Option

    12、 4 and Service Option 5 conform to the general requirements for service options specified in TIA/EIA/IS-95-A. A mobile station operating in wideband spread spectrum (CDMA) mode conforming with TIA/EIA/IS-95-A and this standard can obtain asynchronous data service and digital Group-3 facsimile servic

    13、e in any cellular system conforming with these standards. This standard does not address the quality or reliability of Service Option 4 and Service Option 5, nor does it cover equipment performance or measurement procedures. Additional data services may be incorporated into future revisions of this

    48、mission capability on TIA/EIA/IS-95-A wideband spread-spectrum cellular systems using the protocols and procedures defined herein. Service Option 5 provides Group-3 facsimile (abbreviated as “fax“ hereafter) transmission capability for these systems. These two Service Options are defrned in a single

    49、 standard because their user interfaces and associated call control procedures are similar. This parallels the current trend in analog modems, which commonly provide both fax and async data services through the same modem unit. 1.2 Terms AT Command Set. Command set interface between data terminal equipment (DTE) and data circuit terminating equipment (DCE). Base Station. A station in the Domestic Public Cellular Radio Telecommunications Service, other than a mobile station, used for communicating with mobile stations.
