1、EG 31-1995 SMPTE ENGINEERING GUIDELINE Considerations for Cassette Bar Code Readers 1 Scope This guideline illustrates examples of possible manufacturing implementations of the cassette la- bel recess area which may impact the reading of bar code labels. It applies to all SMPTE standardized cassette
2、s which employ a label area utilized for bar code identifica- tion. Page 1 of 2 pages 2 Manufacturing implementations Cassette manufacturers may employ a variety of methods in the plastic: molding process and in the placement of the cassette shell seam. This results in differences in the label area.
3、 Figure 1 illustrates examples of several possible implementations of the cassette label recess area. 3 Bar code readers Given the various implementations possible, equip- ment manufacturers should consider these factors in the design of optical bar code readers.
