If the dimensions of the fabric to be tested are insufficient to provide the required size of specimen, staple together shorter pieces of the fabric (without ov

In the case of a fabric that is intended to be bonded to a foam or a wadding, the supplier shall provide sufficient samples of the unbonded fabric for testing purposes. 6.4 Sequence of testing
32、 Note 1 A flow chart that illustrates the sequence of testing and the requirements is given in annex D. Note 2 Except for the surface flash test, testing is conducted on composite specimens only. To economize on the quantity of fabric required and on the time and costs involved in testing, perform t
33、he tests in the sequence given in 6.4.1 to 6.4.3. 6.4.1 Stage 1 In the case of a raised or a pile fabric, determine whether surface flash occurs (see 6.5) on test specimens of the fabric only, before the wet treatment (see 6.2). If surface flash does not occur, repeat the test on specimens that have
34、 been subjected to the wet treatment. If surface flash still does not occur, proceed to stage 2. If surface flash occurs on specimens either before or after the wet treatment, no further tests are required. 6.4.2 Stage 2 Test a composite specimen in conjunction with non-flame-retardant foam or waddi

If the mean afterflame time or the mean afterglow time does not exceed 1 s and there is no flaming debris, retest the fabric afte

If the mean afterflame time or the mean afterglow time does not exceed 1 s and there is no flaming debris, the fabric complies with the requirements for a catego
37、ry 1 fabric and no further tests are required. 6.4.3 Stage 3 Test a composite specimen in conjunction with either a flame-retardant foam or wadding, or a non-flame-retardant foam or wadding and a flame-retardant interliner, in accordance with 6.6, before the wet treatment. If the mean afterflame tim
38、e or the mean afterglow time exceeds 1 s or if there is flaming debris, then no further tests are required and the fabric fails to comply with the requirements of this part of SANS 1423. If the mean afterflame time or the mean afterglow time does not exceed 1 s and there is no flaming debris, retest
39、 the fabric after the wet treatment. If the mean afterflame time or the mean afterglow time exceeds 1 s or if there is flaming debris, the fabric fails to comply with the requirements of this part of SANS 1423. If the mean afterflame time or the mean afterglow time does not exceed 1 s and there is n
