11、covers soft solders (in the form of wire or ribbon) containing one or more cores of highly activated flux. NOTE a) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed in appendix A. b) Provision of the sample required in terms of 5.1.1 (for assessing compliance with the requirements for
12、the resistance of flux residues) requires special agreement between supplier and purchaser. Amdt 1 2 Definitions 2.1 For the purposes of this specification the definitions for “batch”, ”defective”, and “lot” of SANS 137 shall apply. 3 Requirements 3.1 Composition of the solder alloy Except as allowe
13、d for in terms of the Note below, the alloy shall be one of the grades given in tables 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, as specified by the purchaser, and its composition, determined in accordance with 7.2, shall comply with the appropriate values given in the relevant table. NOTE Grades of tin-lead solder other
14、than those given in table 1 may be supplied if so required by the purchaser. For any such grade the tin content shall be within 0,5 per cent of the value specified by the purchaser, and the requirements for other elements shall be as given in table 1 for the grade that has the nearest (higher) tin c

26、02 0,08 3.2 Flux 3.2.1 Type The flux shall be a suitable resin containing highly activating material and of uniform composition. 3.2.2 Resistance of flux residues The requirements of subsection 3.2.2 of SANS 137 shall apply. 3.3 Size 3.3.1 Wire The nominal size of the wire shall be as specified by t
27、he purchaser and shall, preferably, be one of the sizes given in table 6. NOTE When a size not given in table 6 is specified by the purchaser, the tolerances applicable to the nearest size given in table 6 shall apply. 29、 3.4 Flux content The requirements of subsection 3.4 of SANS 137 shall apply. 3.5 Spreading value (not applicable to SABS grades 5Z-3, 1Z-3, 14W-3, and 12W-3) The spreading value, determined in accordance with 6.2, of solder shall be at least 110 mm 2 . 3.6 Setting of residues The requirements of su
30、bsection 3.8 of SANS 137 shall apply. 3.7 Freedom from toxicity The requirements of subsection 3.9 of SANS 137 shall apply. 3.8 Finish The requirements of subsection 3.10 of SANS 137 shall apply. 4 Packing and marking The requirements of section 4 of SANS 137 shall apply. 5 Sampling and compliance w

33、and testing before acceptance or rejection of single lots (consignments) in cases where no information about the implementation of quality control or testing during manufacture is available to help in assessing the quality of the lot.
