Definitions3.1 FuseA device designed to interrupt the electrical circuit when subjected

    7、 to overcurrents. This action is to benonreversible, and the fuse is intended to be replaced after the circuit malfunction has been corrected.4. Part 1Design Parameters4.1 MaterialsThe fuses shall have nonconductive bodies capable of withstanding vehicle environmentalconditions as set forth in this

    8、document. Terminals shall have a suitable finish which will assure corrosionprotection and satisfactory mechanical and electrical properties.4.2 ConstructionThe fuse shall consist of a terminal and element combination securely attached to anonconductive fuse body. Fuse terminals shall be exposed thr

    9、ough the top portion of the fuse body to allow forinspection of the electrical continuity of the fuse while it is engaged in a fuseblock or fuseholder.     10、SIONS4.3 Marking (Initially and After Environmental Exposure)Fuses shall be marked on the fuse body with theamperage, voltage rating, and manufacturers name or trademark. In addition, the fuses shall be color codedas shown in Table 1. Markings shall be legible at the conclusion of all tests set fort

    11、h in this document.SAE J2077 Issued NOV90-3-5. Part 2Performance Requirements5.1 Ampere RatingThis document covers ampere ratings up to and including 30 A. Preferred ampere ratingsare shown in Table 1. These ratings were determined at 24 C ambient temperature using a test procedure asdetailed in 6.1

    12、 of this document. The specific ampere capacity of the fuses is a function of the particularelectrical system being utilized. To aid in determining the actual capacity change, several factors should beconsidered by the application engineer.5.1.1 WIREFigure 2B represents the approximate ampere capaci

    13、ty change due to cable sizes other than 5 mm2.5.1.2 TEMPERATUREFigure 2A represents the approximate capacity change with respect to ambient temperature.The use of fuses in ambient temperature beyond the limits shown is not recommended.5.1.3 LOADINGIt is recommended that the fuses not be loaded above

    14、 80% of their rerated ampere capacitybased on ambient temperatures and the use of cable sizes other than 5 mm2. In addition, it is furtherrecommended that actual performance be verified through testing experimentally in the vehicle.NOTEThe specific ampere capacity of a fuse is a function of the part

    15、icular electrical system being utilized.To aid in determining the actual capacity change several factors should be considered by theapplication engineer. These factors include ambient temperature, wire size, insulating material, andconnecting clips.5.2 Voltage RatingFuses shall be capable of interru

    16、pting at any voltage up to and including 32 V.5.3 Maximum Voltage DropThe maximum voltage drop (in millivolts) at rated current across the fuse only shallbe as shown in Table 2.5.4 PerformanceTests shall be conducted within a temperature range of 24 C 5, which is considered roomambient within this s

    17、pecification.5.4.1 AMPERE RATING TESTSFuses shall carry 110% of rated current continuously for a minimum of 100 h; shallopen in not less than 0.75 s or more than 1800 s at 135% of rated current; shall open in not less than 0.15 sor more than 5 s at 200% of rated current; shall not open in less than

After testing, there shall be n

    20、o rupturing of the fuse body and nodamage to the standard test module or the fuse such as to prevent removal of the fuse.5.4.3 CURRENT CYCLING TESTFuses shall meet the requirements of 5.4.1 after current cycling for a minimum of250 000 cycles (cf.; 6.3).TABLE 2MAXIMUM VOLTAGE DROP OF FUSEAT RATED CU

    22、eet the requirements of 5.4.1 after undergoing 6 h of vibration conditioning (cf.; 6.5).5.6 Environmental ExposureFuses shall meet the requirements of 5.4.1 after sequential exposure to dust andaccelerated aging conditioning or thermal aging and salt fog conditioning.NOTEOne set of samples are to be

    23、 used for the dust and accelerated aging conditioning tests and aseparate set of samples should be used for the thermal aging and salt spray conditioning tests (cf.;6.6).5.7 Fluid CompatibilityFuses shall meet the requirements of 5.4.1 after exposure to the specified test fluids asprovided in 6.7 (c

    24、f.; 6.7).6. Part 3 Test Procedures6.1 ProcedureThe fuses with the exception noted in the vibration and accelerated aging tests, shall be mountedhorizontally. When testing two or more fuses in series, the fuses shall be mounted no less than 150 mm apartand with no less than 600 mm of interconnecting

    25、cable, except as noted for the transient current cycling test.All electrical tests shall be made with 5.0 mm2copper cable and a standard test module (shown in Figure 3).The interface voltage drop (VCD VAB) of the fixture shall not exceed 30 mV. The total voltage drop (VEF)should not exceed 60 mV. Th

    27、 be measuredat the indicated points on the fuse terminals as shown in Figure 1.6.3 Current Cycling Tests6.3.1 Resistors should be employed as load(s) to adjust the current to 68 to 72% of the fuse rating as shown inFigure 5.6.3.2 The test system voltage can be any convenient voltage up to and includ

    28、ing 32 V.6.4 Transient Current Cycling Test6.4.1 Simulated or lamp loads should be used to adjust the initial peak transient current to the percent of the fuserating as shown in Figure 6 and the initial steady state current 98 to 102% of the fuse rating.6.4.2 The test system voltage can be any conve

    30、 a simple harmonic motion having an amplitudeof 0.75 mm (1.50 mm total excursion). The frequency shall be varied uniformly between the limits of 10 to55 Hz. The entire range of 10 to 55 to 10 Hz shall be traversed in approximately 1 min. The motion shall beapplied for a period of 2 h in each of thre

    31、e mutually perpendicular planes (total 6 h). (Testing to be performedwithout current passing through fuse.)SAE J2077 Issued NOV90-9-6.6 Environmental Exposure:6.6.1 DUSTFuses shall be placed in a dust chamber, Figure 7, unmounted and lying on their side. The chambershall contain about 1 kg of coarse

    32、 grade dust conforming to SAE J726a. The dust shall be agitated for 3 severy 20 min by compressed air. The air shall be free of oil and moisture, at a pressure of 5.6 kg/cm2 0.06entering through an orifice 1.5 mm 1 in diameter. The total exposure time to dust shall be 24 h. (Testing tobe performed w

(Testing to be performed in the standardtest module without current passing through the fuse.)6.6.4 SALT FOGFuses shall be subjected to salt fog conditioning per ASTM B 117 for four continuous hours.(Testi

    36、ng to be performed in the standard test module without current passing through the fuse.)6.7 Fluid CompatibilityOne set of fuses shall be immersed in one of each of the test fluids at a temperature of19 to 29 C for 5 to 10 s. After immersion all liquid shall be drained from the fuses and the fuses s

    37、hall be heataged at 120 C for 24 h.
