SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers a corrosion and heat-resistant cobalt alloy in the form of round wire 0.140 inch (3.56 mm) and under in nominal diameter supplied in straight lengths. (See 8.5.)1.2 ApplicationThis wire has been used typically for sp

    7、rings and torsion bars requiring a combination of high strength up to 800 F (427 C), excellent corrosion resistance, and good fatigue properties, but usage is not limited to such applications. The alloy is nonmagnetic.2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTSThe issue of the following documents in effect on the date

The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified.     14、 remainder3.1.1 Check AnalysisComposition variations shall meet the applicable requirements of AMS2269.3.2 Melting PracticeThe alloy shall be produced by multiple melting using vacuum induction followed by vacuum consumable electrode or electroslag remelting practices.3.3 ConditionSolution heat trea

    15、ted, cold drawn, and aged.3.4 Heat TreatmentWire shall be solution heat treated by heating to 2150 F 25 (1177 C 14), holding at heat for a time commensurate with nominal diameter, and cooling as required. After cold drawing, the wire shall be aged by heating to a temperature within the range 900 to

    16、1000 F (482 to 538 C), holding at the selected temperature within 25 F (14 C) for 5 to 5-1/2 hours, and cooling to room temperature at a rate equivalent to air cool. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of wire shall supp

    25、ly all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the wire conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of TestsAll technical req

    26、uirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2371.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of wire shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the vendors name and the country where the metal was melted (e.g., final

    27、 melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations) and the results of tests for composition of each heat and for tensile properties and hardness of each lot, and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order numb

    28、er, heat and lot numbers, AMS5834D, size, and quantity.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS5834D Page 5 of 54.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a statement to that effect.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2371.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVER

    29、Y5.1 Wire shall be supplied in straight lengths.5.2 IdentificationShall be in accordance with AMS2806.5.3 PackagingWire shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportat

    30、ion of the wire to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSWire not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by

    31、purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
