    6、SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers a corrosion and heat-resistant cobalt alloy in the form of round wire 0.140 inch (3.56 mm) and under in nominal diameter supplied in straight lengths. (See 8.4.)1.2 ApplicationThis wire has been used typically for springs and torsion bars requiring a combinatio

    7、n of high strength up to 800 F (427 C) after aging, excellent corrosion resistance, and good fatigue properties, but usage is not limited to such applications. The alloy is nonmagnetic.2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTSThe issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a par

    8、t of this specification to the extent supplied herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding document has been specified, the last published issue of that document

    15、at TreatmentWire shall be solution heat treated by heating to 2150 F 25 (1177 C 14), holding at heat for a time commensurate with section thickness, and cooling as required. QUALITY ASSURANCE

    27、 PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of wire shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the wire confor

    28、ms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of TestsAll technical requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2371.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of the wire shall furnish with each shipment a report sho

    29、wing the vendors name and the country where the metal was melted (e.g., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations) and the following results of tests and relevant information:4.4.1 For each heatComposition.4.4.2 For each lotTensile properties solution heat treated and

    30、cold drawnTensile properties after agingHardness after aging.4.4.3 A statement that the product conforms to the other technical requirements.4.4.4 Purchase order numberHeat and lot numbersAMS5833DSizeQuantity.4.4.5 When the product size is outside the range covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a
