    1、 AEROSPACE MATERIAL SPECIFICATION Copper-Beryllium Alloy, Bars and Rods 98Cu - 1.9Be (CDA 172) Hard Temper (TD04) (Composition similar to UNS C17200) AMS 4651C Superseding AMS 4651B1. SCOPE: 1.1 Form: This specification covers a copper-beryllium alloy in the form of bars and rods. 1.2 Application: T

    2、hese products have been used typically for parts requiring high strength with good electrical conductivity and the nonmagnetic properties are important, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.3 Safety - Hazardous Materials: While the materials, methods, applications, and processes describe

    3、d or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be involved in each use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take nec

APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent

When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding document has been specified, the last published issue of that document shall apply. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 Composition: Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined

    13、by the chemical methods in accordance with ASTM B 194; by spectrochemical methods, or by other analytical methods acceptable to purchaser.     15、AMS 4651C 3.1.2 Copper may be reported as “remainder”, or as the difference between the sum of results for all elements and 100%, or as the result of direct analysis. 3.1.3 When all the elements in the table are analyzed, the sum shall be 99.5% minimum, but such determination is not required for rou

    16、tine acceptance of each lot. 3.2 Condition: Solution heat treated and cold worked to hard temper (TD04), in a suitable condition for precipitation heat treatment. 3.3 Properties: The product shall conform to the following requirements: The applicable limits are those that apply to the specified (ord

    30、4 Quality: The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.5 Tolerances: The product shall conform to AMS 2221 as applicable to refractory alloys. 4. QUALITY ASSURAN

    31、CE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that th

    32、e product conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests: 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1.1 and 3.3.2.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests: Microstructure (3.

    33、3.1.3), hardness (3.3.1.2 and 3.3.2.2) and grain size (3.3.1.4) requirements are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing: Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 249 or ASTM B 249M and the

SAE - 6 - AMS 4651C AMS 4651C 4.3.1 The axis of tensile specimens shall be located approximately midway between center and surface of product over 1.500 inches (38.10 mm) in nominal diameter or distance between parallel sides. 4.4 Reports: The vendor of the product shall furnish with each

    35、 shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the chemical composition and tolerances showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements and stating that the product conforms to the other specified requirements.

    36、This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS 4651C, size and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the mill product form, and the mill produced size. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting: Failure of any specimen to meet specified requirements shall caus

    37、e product represented by such specimens to be subject to rejection. A retest sample of at least two specimens shall be randomly selected to replace each failed specimen from the original sample. All retest samples shall conform to specified requirements. If any retest specimen fails to meet specifie

    38、d requirements, the product represented shall be rejected. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1 Identification: Individual pieces or bundles shall have attached a suitable tag legibly marked with the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 4651C, nominal size and shall be boxed and the box marked with th

    39、e same information. 5.2 Packaging: The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACK

    40、NOWLEDGMENT: A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS: Product not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. SAE - 7 - AMS 4651C
