22、racking when stressed in the short- transverse direction at 45.0 ksi (310 MPa) for 30 days.3.3.3 Fracture ToughnessFracture toughness shall be determined in accordance with ASTM E 399 and when specified, shall meet the values for KIcspecified in Table 3. For T-L and L-T test directions on plate 2 in
23、ches (51 mm) and under in nominal thickness, use full-thickness specimens; for plate over 2 to 4 inches (51 to 102 mm), inclusive, in nominal thickness, use specimens 2-inch (51-mm) minimum thickness centered at T/2; and for plate over 4 inches (102 mm) in nominal thickness, use specimens 2-inch (51

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of plate shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for th
29、e performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the plate conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsComposition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), fracture to
30、ughness (3.3.4) when specified, ultrasonic soundness (3.4.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot.4.2.2 Periodic TestsStress-corrosion resistance (3.3.2) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by t
31、he vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355 and the following:4.3.1 Tensile specimens shall be taken with axis of specimens parallel to each applicable grain flow direction specified in Table 2.4.3.2 When fracture toughn
32、ess testing is specified, specimens shall be taken from at least one plate in each lot for each specimen orientation specified by purchaser.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of plate shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the plate conforms to the composition, tolerances and ultrasonic inspectio
33、n, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS4413A, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the produ
34、ct form, and the size of the mill product.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M.5.1.1 Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by vend
35、or unless specified by purchaser.
