SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of plate.1.2 Application

    6、This product has been used as a moderate strength engineered plate used also for selected structural applications, but usage is not limited to such applications. Armor plate applications are possible, but specific sampling and testing procedures regarding material properties required for this applic

    14、re than 3%, and artificially aged to the -T651 temper (See AS1990).3.3 Heat TreatmentShall be performed in accordance with AMS 2772 and as follows:Solution Heat Treatment Temperature: 855 - 875 F (458 - 468 C)Aging Heat Treatment: Aging shall be performed at a specific temperature and time as requir

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of the product shall supply all samples f

    19、or vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsComposit

    20、ion (3.1), tensile properties (3.4.1), and tolerances (3.6) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS 2355.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating

    21、that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances and showing the numerical results of tests to determine conformance to the other acceptance tests. This report shall include the purchase order number, producer lot number(s), AMS 4409, product form and size, and quantity. The report shall

    22、also identify the producer, the product form, and the mill produced size.SAE AMS4409 Page 4 of 44.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS 2355.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M.5.2 PackagingPlate shall be prepared for shipmen

    23、t in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. Examples of typical protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with pape

    24、r or oiling of the surface.5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by vendor unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface.5.2.2 Sheet shall

    25、 be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the sheet to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and

    26、its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSProduct not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8. NOTES8.1 A change bar (|) located in the left margin is for the convenience of the user

    27、 in locating areas where technical revisions, not editorial changes, have been made to the previous issue of this specification.
